Hard luck Viola, although as a Rangers/Inter fan it was lovely when Vieri blasted over.  To be fair though, in the end you lot gave us the least trouble on route to the final.

Yeah, I'm absolutely gutted as well - I still feel p**sed off now. La Viola did everything except get that elusive goal. Rangers hardly did anything over the two legs. You might have not bothered playing the two legs - the penalty shoot out on its own would have sufficed. I was looking forward to a good day out in Manchester too. As Johnny Rotten said at the last Sex Pistols gig in 1978, "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?"

Rangers were a disgrace. A sad day for football.

It may be cruel but i really hope that's Vieri's last game for us. Not too enamoured with Santana either.

Vieri is a joke, and earlier in this thread I stated I thought Santana was an average player.

I’m still gutted. I had my hopes on a Fiorentina Vs Bayern München final. Now, with Zenit St Petersburg missing Pogrebniak, we’ll probably have 120 minutes of goalless football, and a penalty shoot out won by Rangers. Then, come August, Rangers will meet either Chelsea (fingers crossed) or Man U, and will be crushed something like five nil…

The way it's going, the 2008 UEFA Cup final is shaping up to be a carbon copy of the 1991 European Cup Final between Marseille and Red Star Belgrade, which was one of the worst games I've ever seen!

What are folk expecting Rangers to do?  Take on supposed better teams in an open attractive manner to get slaughtered?  If the teams we have played were as good as they think they are they'd have beaten us.

The other night Rangers had as many shots on target as Fiorentina so while we hardly troubled Frey, Alexander wasn't exactly overworked.  Did either keeper need to pull one out of the top drawer in either leg?

I expected the Viola to be a step too far for us but in reality they disappointed me (if you know what I mean), while they camped out in our half the other night I rarely felt threatened by them, I really only remember one moment where I thought "bloody hell that was close".

Anyone with tickets they no longer want can pass them on me if they wish?

The Euro Cup final when Red Star won it was a bit different as they had played everyone off the pitch on route (including Rangers, still ranks as one of the best opposition performances I've seen when they came to Ibrox) to the final and then suddenly decided to play for pens in that game!
