If the trend continues, eventually [top-flight] football will just become a battle of the better investor - no longer the club having a deep-routed ethnic or foundation, out of which a squad should grow. Just 18 or so mercenaries sniffing the best payer.
Ask a Liverpool fan (scouser preferably) his/her opinion on Gillett and Hicks. Compare that opinion to what they had ten months ago.
Local pride? Who needs it. |
I concur 110%.
There's something indefinably "better" about having players that come through the youth ranks (who theoretically have loyalty to the club) than, like you said mercenary players who've come for the money, exhibit A - Ashley Cole. _________________ CFC

If the americans bought us we'd finally have money and become a big team, as we should be. We are the capital city of the country and we are a joke. We never have any money and we are as corrupt as anything. The Sensi's are now being investigated for dodgy payments to Capello. They are always in trouble for something. I dont care if they dont own us any more. The Stadio Olimpico is seriously third world and if they want to build us a new stadium im for that.
Totti only has a 60% chance of playing tom. De Rossi musnt pick up a yellow card and then we have to support Fiorentina tom night.... _________________ FORZA ROMA...SEMPRE, COMUNQUE E DOVUNQUE

Rosa- what's wrong with Americans???
As for Soros, I don;t like him. Don;t want his money. He does have lots of it though, but is too really far left-wing, global government crap. Don;t want to get into politics here however.
Roma will not die without him. Faith in the tifosi such as us, the youth system, the players, etc....
I may be in the minority, but I don;t want money for money's sake. If you know what I mean.

Americans and football just don't seem to mix that well! (that and the accent can be grating sometimes but i can't really hold that against an entire nation)
Anyway, i reckon we'll draw today _________________ Forza Roma!

I thought we were going to through it away after udinese scored and Doni and Panucci had a fight. Theyhad to be pulled apart by Mexes and at the end of the match Doni stormed of without talking to anyone... not good for the group....
Again we had so many chances and didnt score on the first half. We deserved to win and through away too many shots on goal again. Good to see il Capitano back and playing well. Vucinic scored a nice goal...i think i now prefer him to Mancini. Pizarro annoyed the hell out of me, messing around with the ball and losing it so many times.
Forza Fiorentina tonight then........ and then we have to beat Catania on Wednesday. _________________ FORZA ROMA...SEMPRE, COMUNQUE E DOVUNQUE

I liked Mexes peacemaking by literally just shoving them apart! Doni did talk to Juan whilst they walked off the pitch but it was a bit sad he didn't join in the celebrations.
In a way i think Udinese scoring was actually a good thing cos i could've seen us doing what we did in the first half and just squandering all our chances. I thought Totti looked a bit rusty finishing wise, although he was good in build up-play.
Please win tonight fiorentina! _________________ Forza Roma!

Doni and Panucci have apparently cleared the air and are buying pizza for everyone tonight. I guess we jsut have to hope milan beat inter in a couple of weeks and drop another couple of points on the way... not very likely! _________________ FORZA ROMA...SEMPRE, COMUNQUE E DOVUNQUE

So we arent even going to be 6000 at the match tomorrow night! How sad is that for a Cup Semi. I dont understand why they are playing at 6pm, Its stupid! Looks Like Totti should be playing. Juan and Aquilani are still out. Esposito and Brighi may start. Just hope we can get a good win.
Totti drove passed me today... was temped to crash into him to get his tel no!! haha! _________________ FORZA ROMA...SEMPRE, COMUNQUE E DOVUNQUE

Had you crashed into him though you might've injured him in some way!
So is anyone actually going to play tomorrow then? (and 6pm games are a complete joke)
edit: Just seen the squad list, who's Unal and Bertagnoli? (primavera?) _________________ Forza Roma!

The playoffs are almost here who do you think has a good chance Duncan?
It's hard to pick against the Celtics in the East and the Lakers in the West. I'd like to see a Garnett/Duncan finals though that would be fun.
Went to the Spurs game last night and got Oberto to autograph my sons Argentina shirt and my Inter hat, nice guy! _________________ CFC
