Ow.

Combine the duration of the initial treatment and the recovery so he can stand on it without the need for a brace, followed by the need for more rehab than Amy Winehouse to get him back to kicking a football.... Not being funny, but I can imagine that his recovery will be accompanied by a spot of comfort eating which won't help him return to match fitness any sooner.

Sad to say, probably is the end of the line for him.

Speaking of Ronaldo, whatever happened to Ronaldo 9 from the old foro? Unless he stopped posting when he was appointed Archbishop of Canterbury, did he fall foul of the mods or just give up in disgust?

very sad news. Arguably the finest striker in the 90s.

Pity it wasn't his neck that snapped.

Why wasn't I surprised? Typical, I guess.

A sad end to a glorious career. The best striker of all times, imo.

Post of the Season!

I can't say I'm too disappointed by FatRon's latest injury. He's been a shadow of his former self (albiet a larger one) since he returned from his second knee injury. I still believe that his actions in leaving Inter were rather distasteful.

I don't wish to see any player's career ended by injury, but the fact is...Ronaldo really hasn't been that good for about seven or eight years now.

F**k knows why Milan bought him in the first place.

Good riddance to the fat goofy twat. I'm sorry but there are more important things to worry about than the final installment of the bloated mercenary's chequered career. He was good for about one season. Yawn.

He's practically the reason we got a CL place for this season. Singlehandedly, almost  He's the best ever. That you can see even at 30% fitness level. There won't be another like him

Yes Ronaldo the man is a bit of a tosser (two pay rises while injured at Inter only to leave!), but the player was absolutley awesome.
I can't say this comes as a surprise though, his career was always going to end prematurely.

His goal scoring record says otherwise:

Real Madrid 2002-2007 - 83 goals in 127 appearances
Milan 2007onwards - 9 goals in 16

I don't like Ronaldo the person, but it's still sad to see his present struggles with fitness.  Before his knee problems started he was was unstoppable and amazing to watch.  He may be a shadow of his former self, but he still has the talent to win matches, if fit.  Unfortunately for him I feel this is the end for him because he couldn't play consecutive matches before the injury, and he has even less chance now.
