Oh. My. God. I spent most of the night having to watch Liverpool cock up in Lyon because the pc has been on the blink (plus the missus doing work ). I tried to follow the score on teletext and even that was playing up. And at 1-0 for practically the whole game, what was the point? Sheva scoring, surprise, surprise. I'd almost given up when I checked it one last time as the Liverpool game finished.

I'm a happy man

NON MOLLARE MAI!!!

Never doubted it for a minute.

The chances just kept coming up in the 2nd half was only a matter of time to constant waves of attack crashed over them

For me "Non Mollare Mai" started to become a battle cry when Ronaldo got injured in that Coppa final v Lazio. However it really didn't start to show on the pitch until that 3-2 win over Samp. Since then we've always looked like having an extra gear in the Serie A when we needed it.

Hopefully this game gives them a massive mental boast which has the same affect. First half was hestitate but whatever Mourinho said at half time worked, formation likewise.

Looking forward to the Barca game more than ever, IF we take care of them, their European campaign for this season could well be in our hands

I will be in Barcelona! I've also been promised a ticket but even if I don't get one I'll still be there!

I feel that if Inter see off Barca (and Rubin beat Kiev) in Camp Nou, the Champions League will be won by an EPL team. Such is my pessimism… My dream results:

Barca 1-0 Inter
Rubin 0-0 Kiev

Inter 4-0 Rubin
Kiev 0-3 Barca

Delighted! :D

2 draws in the next round leaves Kiev playing for qualification at home against Barca and us needing just a draw at home against Rubin.

FORZA INTERRRRRRR!

Great city Barca, I was there on my honeymoon in 99, teed it up hoping to see Ronaldo lead Inter there for the CL final but had to put up with loads of Man U & Bayern fans

Despite that loved it there.

Just hocked myself into a heap of debt so I can't see myself flying over to watch Inter any time soon

I've been to Barcelona before myself and loved it. I've also got an Inter supporting Italian friend living there at the moment so I'm hoping to meet up with him and his new born son. Aah

After a lot of running about last night, I got in and politely asked the wife to TURN THE F*CKIN' TELLY OVER TO SSN !! (Believe that if you like) only to scan the screen and find we were 1-1 and still playing. Then lo and behold the presenter starts saying there has been another goal in Kiev and as soon as I heard Sneijders name I could have kissed him.
In fact if anyone knows where he lives I might still do it.
Then of course I quickly turned telly back to Spooks for the missus and got her a cuppa, whilst ironing and tidying the kitchen with a big cheesy grin on my face !
Love it, love it, love it !!

Quote:
Former Inter striker Christian Vieri has suggested the Calciopoli scandal was sparked and created by Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti in order to make his club the strongest team in Italy and send Juventus down to Serie B.

Vieri is currently suing Inter and telecommunications company Telecom Italia for illegal wire tapping.

Firenzeviola.it reports that the wire tapping plan between Moratti and Telecom Italia was to eliminate teams in Serie A so that Inter could pave the way for success. It claims Inter players were made to sign a document to cover up any existence of the plan to take down other clubs. The allegation is that Vieri's phone was tapped up to ensure he never spoke of Inter's Calciopoli plans.

"I am ready to show everyone the document, everyone knew what was happening. I was spied upon because I cannot keep these things locked up," Vieri said as reported by Firenze Viola.

"Seventy per cent of the contract was to be paid by Inter, and the other 30 per cent by Telecom who used me for advertising campaigns so that they could pay less taxes.

"I have only ever spoken about this to Mr [Rinaldo] Ghelfi of Inter, agreeing everything with him.

"I felt really sorry for Juventus because I have affection for them. The same with Milan. I thought I was doing something good for my president who has plenty to sell in terms of having a double personality."

I knew it. I hope he truly has the documentation behind these claims, and Inter gets sent to Serie B and Moratti banned from Calcio.

EDIT: It seems the story got pulled down from goal.com. Is there any other source for this or was it just a practical joke?

EDIT2: Found another source.

I know I'm an Inter supporter and I don't have too much love for Juve, but I'm trying to be a little objective here.

"Yes, there were things that were not right in the old Juventus...": Cobolli. What were those? I've read the so-called Vieri quotes and I'm not sure they make a lot of sense, even if I were a Juve supporter:

1. How did Moratti 'create' Calciopoli? Did he or the discredited Triad make the phone calls? There may have been whistle blowers but they didn't make the calls.

2. Why would the club make the players sign a document? Did they do the alleged wire tapping?

3."...the other 30 per cent by Telecom who used me for advertising campaigns so that they could pay less taxes." How does that work?

4. And what of the latest revelations about ball tampering? I suppose that was Inter as well?

Is there any hard evidence for anything in Italy or does everything work on supposition or conspiracy theory?[/list]

BnB waste of time discussing it with the Gobbi it's easier for them to believe that Moratti docked the tapes than Juve having done anything wrong so I responded on this thread.

Let's run with the assumption that the above comments are legit, On the above points:

1. I'm no expert in Italian law but common sense would tell me any evidence that was illegally obtained wouldn't be accepted in court, so if true it would only work in Juve's favour.

2. No idea what the document is about (or if it even exists) I can only speculate that 1. it was regarding the break up of his wages or 2. it told the Inter players that they were aware of calciopoli before it was released. Considering Vieri left Inter in the summer of 2005 seems odd to me. Although I'm still getting over the fact that Vieri can read :-P

3. Makes no sense to me: Understandable that advertising is a deductible expense so they reduce their profit, hence pay less tax. Potentially they could have paid Vieri 3m for something worth 300k but I would have expected they'd get the same deduction for sponsoring Inter in the first place. Mind you if I wanted tax advice I wouldn't go to Vieri

4. Refer to the 1st paragraph, my favourite is these days anything that's 50/50 and goes Inter's way is automatically a scandalous call but those odd ref calls during the Moggi era... perfectly understandable.

Personally if true and Moratti initiated the investigation then I applaud him even more. How can you not admire a man that will stop at nothing to defend our club.

When you consider Inter has been under the Moratti family for two generations and nearly 30% of it's existence I could never fault the guy. My only criticism of Massimo has been he's too generous, I'm a big believer of tough love

I'll say what I said on Marcello Salas regarding Vieri's comments.  The connection between Inter and Telecom Italia is very strong.  Moratti used to be a director there.  Telecom's former boss Marco Tronchetti Provera is an Inter director.  And of course there's Guido Rossi, a former Inter director who ran the Calciopoli trial before walking into the top job at Telecom Italia.

That is what I call a conflict of interests, and along with the fact no matches have been proven to be fixed is why I'm so angry about the original Calciopoli trial.  I don't believe Moggi and Giraudo were saints, and it seems they were guilty of unsporting conduct, but that's nothing near enough of a crime to be relegated as such instances occur all the time.

On Vieri's actual comments I have no idea if they're true, but considering what I've read on Calciopoli I wouldn't be surprised if it was true.
