I use Firefox more often than not and I haven't encountered any problems...

You might see an improvement if you clear your cookies?

Have you thought of having a quick chat with someone at Citizen's Advice?

Thanks Dave, I hadn't thought of the CAB.

I'm pretty sure that everything will come to a quick and painless conclusion with all of this, but I'm thinking 'worst case scenario' at the moment to ensure I have as much ammo as possible should it all go tits up...

Mezz, according to www.direct.gov.uk. You'll have to go with option 3, but surely your company won't want to pay you the full month if it's longer than you've actually worked there as it wouldn't be in their interest, unless you are already fully trained in i suppose.

Thanks for this Myles, I really appreciate it.

If push comes to shove and I have to see out a full month, it's not the end of the world. I'll basically be able to sit at my desk doing fook all for four weeks whilst earning a largely over-inflated salary... could be worse.

I'm still hopeful that they'll let me disappear after a week as there's really no point of me being there, but I suppose I'll find out when it all kicks off.

I'll keep y'all posted!

Alrighty... it seems that the scenario I least expected has come out on top.

Notice was handed in this morning to my direct manager (rather than the MD as he was late in - car trouble, apparently), she said we would have to wait on the MD to come in before finalising anything, MD comes in, hears the news from my manager, calls me in, thanks me for being so honest and upfront about my position and says 'stay until the end of the week, we'll pay you up to that date and you can be merrily on your way', and that was it.

I'm waiting for the twist in the tail, but it all looks good in the 'hood at the moment!

I assume that your letter of resignation wasn't quite as colourful as your description of the job on here?!

Great news - hope that there aren't any twists and that you're free to leave on Friday.

Thanks fella!

I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll be able to disappear on Friday without a fuss and with the dosh I've earned nestling snuggly in my bank account.

Well, it was going to be quite 'colourful' but I noticed something on the wall of the MD's office on Friday that made me feel the need to edit my resignation letter: a trophy awarded to the MD for being a black belt in Tae Kwon Do!

I was so inactive today that I had visited pretty much every site I wanted to by about 9:30am.

I might try learning Chinese tomorrow...

Congratulations, Mezz!

I know myself it's not nice being left in limbo over things as important as your job, so it's pleasing to read that all is resolved and you can move on.

Much appreciated, Bracey!

The fella that does the payroll in my current office reckons that I'll probably get paid right up to the end of the month seeing as the payroll for October was submitted and confirmed about one hour prior to me handing my notice in.

If this turns out to be correct, I'll get three days dosh for fook all!

Don't suppose anyone's got the previous issue of the CalcioItalia magazine they'd be prepared to sell to me? I forgot to buy it, but like to get the season preview issue...

il ferret, just found my copy of said magazine you were looking for. Not having utilised all the tools on this site yet I will try and get your details via an onsite message in order to post it.
Otherwise maybe Myles would help on that front.
I have flicked through it to make sure it is free of any food debris or worse (pubescents) as it was kicking around my bedroom for a while. Am I putting you off yet ?
