Some websites are saying it was Collin McRae and his 5 year old son in that helicopter crash but I tend to rely on the BBc site.

It appears that Colin McRae's agent has confirmed that McRae was on board and killed in the crash; various aviation sources have confirmed that the helicopter that went in was the one McRae owned.

It's been suggested that his son plus two others (one adult, one child) were on board at the time also, although no source for that information has been stated.

I'd imagine it wasn't a pretty site considering they cant tell how many people were on board. Quite a kick in the balls hearing this news about someone I have watched on TV since I was about 10 years old

Not a cause for AMS, but how about this for coincidence?

The original forum is really dying a slow and agonising death.

We tried to warn them, Gio, we did try...

Part of me thinks that they're probably glad that we've departed, although where that leaves the forum is another matter. It's astonishing how within the space of 18 months the forum has reached a point where there are topics from a month ago still on the front page.

While the days when you could go on the site to discover that topics from a couple of hours before had slipped onto page 2 were never going to return, the current situtation is an appalling indictment of the way in which the forum moderators have carried out their task. The foro remained lively even after footie ceased to be on the Channel, but now...

Marcel Marceau, the mime artist has died.

I suppose a minute's extremely loud noise would be the best means of paying respect to him. Either that or poncing about pretending to be trapped behind a sheet of glass.

I didn't mime somebody carking it yesterday. No, that would be in extremely poor taste.

Surprisingly no mention in the obits of his radio show. Was a bit of a flop apparently.

Although it did very well when it was up against the Now Show for a short period. Won over several of that show's listeners, who thought that Marceau's approach to satire was much more amusing.

Not sure whether to make the appalling pun in tribute to the deceased based upon You Only Live Twice or Live and Let Die, so I'll let someone else take the first crack at it....
