The doofus' over on the Juve thread actually think ADP was better than Totti!!! [Dylan excepted} |
Intersting you say that. Only thing I recall, doofus, is you posting something on the thread saying Totti is better than ADP. I do not recall anyone responding to this although I did say and here I am saying it again: you conceded two goals and lost two points...this is your problem not ours but it sort of shows which team has championship spirit and which one lacks confidence to finish off games when it matters. Unfortunately, we are not strong enough at the moment to go to the Olimpico and win 4/1, but we will in a year or so.

I was surprised at the expectations before this match for Roma, as I believe they were deluding themselves with their own hype. While their record and form is indeed a fact, I can't help but draw comparisons to last season start and expectations; with basically the same team they started out last season strong only to stutter.
At the very least, this season is proving to be an interesting one indeed.

really enjoyed myself at the game, apart from the final moments and the result.
my friends couldn't get tickets, so i went with some people i just met
I made a video of Venditti before the match, you can see the amazement from these Romans by my singing ability’s

not much more to say, Perrotta terrible, Mexes sleep when he should know of Trezeguet danger, Cicinho sleep when the long throw is blatantly coming in. Wasn't too impressed with Juan on the ball, he needs more time to get comfortable.
Unlucky, but the other results came in for us.
On to viola

Tough game with Fiorentina coming up. If we would have got 3 from Juve , a draw in Florence would be decent. But now want the 3 on Wednesday.
I don;t think Totti can play upfront on his own over 3 competitions regularly. But who else is there? Vucinic-

I'm always impressed by Totti's ability toplay as a lone striker, and still score goals. It's a testimony to the man's talent as an all-round footballer. That said, he sucks for the azzuri though.

Not a great result considering we were winning at the end and could have all 3 points.
Still, a point in Florence isn't TOO bad.

Another 2 points lost....and Taddei is nowout of the game against Inter and Manchester. Again we had chances to score and didnt. the Ref was terrible. Mexes got a yellow card for no reason, while the Fiorentina players got away with murder. Aquilani was again the best on the pitch. As for Vucinic... i hate him! He is useless... he just cant score!
The game with inter is now a must in.

Ouch! Not the best frame of mind to be in when preparing to play Manure (especially considering your last result against them!)

I believe yesterday was a bad day at the office for the Romolini.
They will get a result in Manchester.

I hope so, but am not overly optimistic.
Watching Roma this year I have come to a few conclusions of my own: [feel free to discuss]
We seem to be to light in the middle. When I saw that Pizarro AND Giuly were starting yesterday, I had a bad feeling.
With Totti upfront, we also don;t have a physical presence upfront which can further our light weight feel.
I don;t think we will challenge for the Scudetto or CL with our present formation. Other teams are getting in on it, no matter how nice we can play sometimes
Vucinic sucks still, and don't like Pizarro
I would go with more of a 442, but we need a physical presence upfront with Totti; De Rossi and Aquilani/Perrotta in center mid roles. Just some thoughts after watching us get waxed yesterday

I thought Roma could conquer OT but it's not without the existance of Teddei,Perrotta and Aquilani. The former two was the reason of the 7-1 defeat last season as thier absence made Roma lost their rhythm and incompetent to control the midfield. But they two plus Aquilani will be out of action again......
The performance of Roma in the early season with 3 sucessive wins without conceding any goals shown their 4-2-3-1 system could beat any team and i think they are the favourite of scrambling Scudetto but i doubt the alternatives could do the job.
and please no Cassetti as he could do nothing to stop C Ronaldo....
Good luck for the Tuesday match _________________ Forza Viola

I do agree that some of our players in midfield do lack some strength especially when it comes to one-on-one situations. But instead they are either fast or very good with the ball or both. And that is basically what our system is based on. Having players who are merely physical would slow down our style of playing. Now when we are playing the ball into the box, mainly from the flanks, we have at least 3 or 4 players there that can score the goal. What we need to be is more clinical when we get the chances.
I wouldn´t be too worried about other teams getting "in on it" as we have played this way for sometime now.
I believe any team in the world would find it hard to play against Inter with ten men. _________________ FORZA ROMA

Terrible! The stadium emptied 20 minutes before the end. Not that it was full to start with anyway. Giuly is paid more than enough not to play football like i do.. what was he thinking?! Not that we had impressed much up until that point. Totti was terrible and we really missed Aquilani. We just werent in the game at all... after Parma next weekend we have Napoli, Milan and Lazio in a row... things dont look good for us. As for Man U tom..we dont have a hope in hell. _________________ FORZA ROMA...SEMPRE, COMUNQUE E DOVUNQUE

I have to say that Pizarro is one of those players that I wasn't too upset we moved on. He can be terrific, I've seen him surrounded by players and with one move find space and be gone. However, if you are physical against him he will disappear. If only he was a foot taller (and wider) he'd be awesome. _________________ Non mollare mai.

We really lack height in general. Pizarro, Esposito, Guily, Cicinho are all tint.. Inter were like giants compared to us.
