Indeed

And the last English team left is the one that would "ruin" the English coefficient.

This is what happens when you have Sterling instead of Messi or Robben or UEFAlona to bail you out.

Dortmund were understandably outplayed in the first half tonight after yesterday's shocking events but recovered well to reduce the deficit to one goal. Chapeau to the teams and the crowd for a thriller!

Monaco's Mbappe looks like some player but has a touch of the Barcelona's in the way he falls down at the slightest contact and his habit of flashing imaginary yellow cards is vile..... He's a kid who appears to have it all but must temper his cheating to be a great in the future. That is all.

Not making excuses for Dortmund but I think the game could have been postponed for a little later in the week. You know Monaco were going to win after yesterday. They put up a valiant fight though.

Have really enjoyed watching Monaco this season, once in a while there's an under the radar team that captures the attention in the CL and they've definitely been that team this year. They're certainly entertaining to watch!

Mbappe's got it all hasn't he, he even knee slides like Henry, though it'll be hard to live up to the expectations placed on him.....he should be around for a while at least.

On that subject I was reminded how long players can have an impact at the top level watching Benzema tonight. Seems like a lifetime ago he was terrorising Rangers in the CL!

It appears it was 2007:

I like Monaco, they've impressed me in France and I'm not surprised they're in a strong position to reach the semi-finals.  It's funny how they've ditched the big spending policy and are now the strongest they've been since reaching the final in 2004.

Leicester's game was tense, although Atletico were probably less of an attacking threat than Sevilla were in that away leg.  Atletico are so great defensively though, and so intelligent in their positioning when defending.  The penalty decision was poor, but Leicester fans of my age and older know full well that bad refereeing in Atletico's favour against Leicester is a common theme after 1997!

I can't wait for next Tuesday.  The atmosphere against Sevilla was so good, and I'm expecting the same again.  A shame Huth will be banned though which is leaving the squad short of CB's.
