Federico Bernardeschi now very close after he refused to extend in Florence.

Looks like a deal will be as high as 40m + bonuses + player (.possibly Sturaro)

Rumoured to be ready to visit Turin on Thursday.

I'd like Bernardeschi.  Young, Italian and quality, so hopefully someone who can be part of the next generation Italian core.

Liam, you probably won't like this suggestion, but i was thinking the perfect signing for this Juventus would be Riyad Mahrez. Would be perfect for the right side of the 4231. Sorry man!

Bernardeschi still looks a little raw from what I've seen in the under 21's this summer, but would be a good investment for sure. Would be nice to sign a few Italians too, as we've neglected that in recent mercatos.

It's not something I've thought about much, and it won't happen.  If he does leave it seems it'll be to Arsenal, probably the last place I'd want him to go (He said he was fiercely ambitious!).

Ability wise he can play for anyone, but he's not great with his defensive support, so that'll need covering.  Leicester have got around this by playing a very defensive full back behind him.

Yeah he could fit in, although I prefer the idea of Bernardeschi for more reasons than one.

Mahrez is good but he seems arsenal bound... plus I feel Bernadeschi would be a better fit too. He's young, Italian and long term 10 for us. Plus if he comes in addition to costa, his versitilty in the advanced roles would be a huge asset too.

I just wish they would hurry up with these moves though!

Raj, you may be right on the button.

News from Germany tonight that agreement has been reached with Bayern on a 10m loan deal with a further 30m to buy Douglas Costa. The other business is taking longer but it's hoped we can finalise the deal with Fiorentina in the next week.

Signing Bernardeschi and Costa, while holding onto Sandro/Bonucci would be a great transfer window.

Also if we do sign those 2, I'd also like us to hold on to Cuadrado. We need 4 wingers for the 4231 system, and as Allegri quite rightly pointed out, that by the CL final some players had played a lot and were burnt out, purely because we didn't have alternatives to allow for rest and rotation. Costa, Berna, Pjaca and Cuads would be strong options. I don't consider Mandzukic a winger. With those signings he could be allowed to play as a striker again and fight it out with Higuain for the starting spot.

Also keep Licthsteiner. Brilliant player, I didn't get why he was treated the way he was last year. Deserves better.

If we get Bernadeschi, his name is definitely going on my next Jive shirt.

That potential Costa transfer is nicely structured, helps us spread the cost.

Reading that Marrotta wanted both deals done by 17th. Fingers crossed!

Need that central midfielder too, and then we're ready I think? So who? Matuidi? N'Zonzi?

Agreed Ray, lack of depth leading to burnout ultimately cost us big at the end. Looks like we are adding some serious depth this time round.

I felt sorry for Lichsteiner too, he was in a tough spot, he wasn't gonna get picked over Alves, but too good just to sit around. Leaving him out of the champs league squad for the first half of the season was too much. He's given us a lot over the years. Even last season when Alves was out like the true pro he is, he really stepped up.

Marchisio and Pjanic!

I'm serious. Marchisio is one of the best midfielders in the world. He's still young enough for another couple of seasons at the very top. If he can get fully recovered from that ACL injury, which by now he should, for me he's a much better option that Khedira. His better tactical and defensive awareness would help out Pjanic allowing him to play with more freedom. Also Marchisio's distribution of the ball is faultless.

For me Pjanic was our best player in Cardiff. Despite the pressure and adversity from Real's midfield, he still played with balls and personality, always looking for the ball, even when pressed, and he didn't crumble on the big occasion. Character traits that this Juve need if we're ever gonna win the CL. He made a believer out of me in that game and also he was the same against Barca.

So, assuming those 2 would be first choice, I don't know who'd be a good signing. What's that Bentancur player like? Is he too green still?

Agreed totally on Pjanic. He was a top signing, he started slow but got better as the season went along. He needs to play with a little less fear next season. Agree about Marchisio's ability, however because of that injury I don't think we should be betting the house on him staying fit. Need top notch cover, Khedira is not looking like that and sturaro/lemina shouldn't even be at the club. Bentancur, yep probably a bit too green for now, loan for a season or two probably.

Pjanic got better as the season went on, and I think he will get even better next season.  Agree on Marchisio too.  He's a very intelligent player with great technique, whose also played different midfield roles well over the years.  Unfortunately I have reservations about his fitness, as even after recovering from his knee injury he kept on missing games.

Another CM would be nice to add to those 2 and Khedira.

Douglas Costa is in Turin so it seems that one is done.  I'm very happy with that and am surprised he's fallen out of favour at Bayern.  He's explosive, unpredictable and skillful.  Good work from Beppe Marotta and co.

Yep brilliant job landing Douglas Costa! Really looking forward to watching the tornado in a Juve shirt.

Mbappe... yes indeed, if only!  Crazier things have happened, so you never know...

Talking of crazy... Bonucci to Milan?!!! What's all this about?? I firmly believe that every single player has a price... but that price can't be the 30-45 million euros they're talking about! Didn't we only recently turn down 60 million from England for him?!

Minimum price, 40 mill and Romagnoli... or a bit less if they also chuck on De Sciglio.

Patrik Schick currently undergoing intensive medical in Rome with Sampdoria and Juventus directors present following concerns about
the results of the original medical 3 weeks ago highlighting a heart irregularity.

The Bonucci situation, though not totally unexpected, has come somewhat late in the day as players prepare for the new season.

His value to Milan should be quoted at 50m. Milan have turned down Marotta idea of 20m + Romangnoli .

This in last few minutes.:-

another one from Sky:
BREAKING: There is an agreement between Milan and Juventus to make the Bonucci-De Sciglio deals two separate ones [Sky].

There is a gentleman agreement to sign Bonucci right away for 40m, the only nod to overcome is De Sciglio's price (10-15m) [Sky]

Fingers crossed the Schick medical goes well and we can deposit the contract, the fella looks good.

This Bonucci deal is sounding like a poor one and even poorer this late in the day. I ageee with you the price should have been 50mill take it or leave it.

I can't understand why Milan were allowed to refuse our request for 20mill plus Romagnoli... why do they think they're in a strong position?! We can just turn down the whole deal! This whole thing sounds a little weird!

This Bonucci stuff has to be bollocks surely at those figures?

I'd refuse to deal unless Romagnoli was involved, as this move will weaken the defence, with Barzagli 36, Chiellini injury prone, and Benatia not being the same level.

I thought that too Liam, but the more that emerges the more it looks like it's happening. The figures are pathetic 40mill, euros at that, for a guy for who we turned down 60mill just last year!

If it does go through we'd need a top replacement, too soon for Caldara who has another year in Bergamo, Allegri must have decided that Rugani is ready to take over permanently...which means perhaps we might pick up someone just as cover?

It's ludicrous that we're even considering this without putting our foot down about wanting someone like Romagnoli in return.

I sense something major has happened behind the scenes either in cardiff or since for us to even be considering this cut price deal.
