The defence was horrible throughout, and particularly poor on set-pieces.  Midfield look tired.  Melo needs a rest, but because of the lack of fit players he can't have one.  Camoranesi was a big loss when he went off as no one else can play his role.

It was a terrible decision to send off Amauri as well.  Can't see us winning the league now.

We'll never win anything with Felipe Melo as a holding midfielder. The man is a complete charlatan. He gives the ball away in really dangerous areas, jumps into tackles high up the pitch leaving a gaping hole in the midfield, and his whole languid, over casual attitude is like a cancer that spreads through the team. I blame a lot of our defensive problems on him.

Noty sure what everyone is talking about. I think Melo had a good game until Poulsen was taken out. The guy had to cover the entire field. A holding midfielder is impotant but it assumes that the rest of the team is working with him. We are still too slow, particularly on the Grosso side. The fact of the matter is that we lack the zeal that Napoli has shown, we have too many players out injured, our coach is decent but not a master tactician and we lack a leader. Buffon is one, but he is a goal keeper. Diego could have been the leader but since coming back from injury he has been unable to find his rythem (although I have to say he is impressive in terms of his ability to hold the ball). We need Alex not to score 20 goals but to provide the eladership.

For now, we can expect that the Scudetto is already gone becasue Inter can find the second gear when they need to but we can not (the same story that happened to them between 1995 and 2005 but it is not the other way aroudn).

Tiago should not be allowed to even see the subs bench. He is not made for the game. Hell, I rate him as our 22nd player out of 22. Poulsen and Zebina kick his as$% as footballers. He is too weak, too casual and his attempted clearance was ever funnier than our second goal.

I agree with Rossi - Melo was not solely to blame for the defeat and has played well, despite giving the ball away on occassions.

As for the title hopes, i think Gigi summed it up perfectly:

“If you lack consistency, it’s very unlikely you’ll take the title.”

we've lacked consistency for most of the season, even though we're only into week 11 - Even if we take points of inter in December, we'll probably pi$$ them away against someone like Livorno

I still think Zanetti was the one that wanted to leave. It doesn't make any sense otherwise, you spent all summer trying to get rid of Poulsen just to turn around, keep the guy and sell Zanetti?

Anyway, the Samp game gave me back some hope, but I realized that yeah, the Scudetto is gone. Congrats Inter.

I don't think our defence is up to scratch. Even though Cannavaro has been better than expected he's still not amazing. Our full backs are hardly world class either. The defence is good but not scudetto winning good.
