Cheers for those tips Myles, I've picked up some handy info.

You're right about the SEO companies - many of them make certain promises regarding 'top-10' results etc. but most of it is gumph - I've had my site appear in the top 10 results for keywords like 'juventus' and then drop back to page 4 for no apparent reason.

Sitemaps are quite handy, as is the broken links index on webmaster tools (but i'm sure you already know that! )

One other thing that i found quite handy was the following article:

http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2...-what-do-we-really-know-about-it/

It's long winded with lots of info to digest, but worth a read.

Does anybody have an ipod touch? I'm thinking of buying one but want to clarify something. I've heard it works on wireless and you can go onto Itunes and download podcasts etc. Thing is, I only have a work laptop with no itunes. Could I hook onto any unsecured wireless network and download my stuff?

Plus, anyone know the cheapest outlet for my purchase?

Hi Zeds, spookily enough, I have an Ipod Touch sat on my desk waiting to be returned to Amazon. My dad bought it about a week and a half ago and had endless problems with it, mainly trying to connect to our wireless network, various problems with ITunes and the fact that it froze on a few occasions - Not sure of all the specifics but he was not a happy chap. It was quite expensive at £250 (he had the 32GB model) but worst of all, when he came to do a master reset, the screen just froze on the apple logo ! It's now sat in it's box in that same state, waiting for the pick man from Destroy, Hide Lose (DHL)

Not sure if that helps

Has anyone been to the new Wembley? I'm off there tomorrow. Considering whether to drive (I live in London) or take the tube. Any tips?

Got the tube and it was fine. Been to see gigs and international football. It's a cracking ground. Enjoy!

I would definitely suggest getting the tube, Zeds. Parking's shite and it costs a fortune.

As Bobo said, it's a great venue though. Have a blast!

Try The Fusilier on Harrow Road if you drive, we parked there for Oasis and, if you spend a bit over the bar, they let you park for free.

Thanks guys. In the end, because my underground line was suspended, I drove to Finchley Road, parked right by the station on a single yellow, and then we took the one stop to Wembley. Worked out really well. We ended up in the Celtic end, and there was a really good atmostphere. And yes, Wembley is pretty awesome.

Some advice needed.

I've been offered a job, contract is through post and everything, just awaiting my formal acceptance. However, I've now had contact from another organisation possibly offering a lot more £, and have invited me to an interview on Monday.
If I formally accept the first offer but end up joining the latter company, would I be in trouble with company A? I heard I could be sued.

Anyone been in this position?

Depends I think what the job is and the terms of the contract. For example signing to a specified period (like the forces for example) and the reneging on the deal would land you in a spot of bother.

However if it's just a 'run of the mill' job offer, you're well within your rights to cancel before employment starts. After employment starts technically you would have to give any notice period stated in the contract.

I've had a similar situation, where I turned down the job despite signing a contract but this was before I'd started working, they weren't happy but there was feck all they could do.

I'd say it depends if there is something specific about such a scenario in your contract, and if there isn't anything in the contract then there's nothing they can use against you.

Also, I would've thought so long as you give the required length of notice to leave stated in the contract then they can't sue you either.

I havent studied any employment law so I do not feel qualified to give you any advice you should act on. I do have a good knowledge of contract law however and advise you to read thoroughly over your contract as it is probably the case that you are only bound by terms that you assent to in the contract (i.e. anything in the contract assented to by your signature).

I would look out for any terms mentioned re: notice.

Thoroughly bleed google dry for any information you can and good luck in the interview should you choose to go for it!

Cheers guys.
I've been through the terms of the contract and two things struck me. Firstly, that the offer stands for a two week period (which exprires on Thursday). Secondly, it states the requirement of 1 week's notice during the initial 3 months' probation period.
I think it gives me some breathing space, since they don't want me to start until the beginning of September. But I also need to provide my 4 week's notice to my current company, so it does makes things a little tight. I'll go to the other interview tomorrow as I have nothing to lose by hearing them out. I'll ask about start dates etc. and hopefully something will work out.

Iffy thing is that both a pretty different roles. One is for a Business Analyst and the other Commercial Manager, so whichever way I decide will take my career in a really different direction.

Is annoying though, I've been looking for another job for nearly a year, and now two come along at once.

Good luck Zeds.

Goes without saying just make sure you don't leave yourself high and dry by handing in your notice at your present company and then missing out on the two offers you have

I was a commercial manager until the credit crunch hit my particular industry, I now find myself at the bottom of the ladder again having been made redundant twice in the past two years, good to hear someone has options on the table for them.

Does anyone know of a free email hoster that lets you automatically forward the incoming messages to multiple other email addresses?

Yahoo, gmail and hotmail only let you automatically forward the incoming message to one other email address, but i need it to forward incoming messages to 4 other email addresses.

Oh shit..I forgot its name. I saw it in Geneva on BBC world on a tech program (it was a 15 minute short programme reviewing stuff). If you check the BBC world website and try to find a tech programme..?

It's from 2 weeks ago.
