Question for our Italian-speaking friends:
Something that's bothered me for a while now.

If Azzurri means blue. And Gialloblu probably means yellow-blue, why is it not Gialloazzurri?

(I ask for forgiveness for the stupidity of my question)

So both words mean the exact same thing? Or are the shades of blue in question different?

Any Kilmarnock fans on here? I was watching SoccerAM, and there's a really skilful winger full of stepovers and blind passes. Is he actually any good?

Azzurri refers to the deeper blue called "Azure" in English which relates to the Italian royal family or some such.

That would be Mehdi Taouil.

I've only seen him play in Kilmarnock's away game at St Mirren at the end of January, and I was very impressed with him (even though he displayed none of the trick he did on Soccer AM).

He must be doing well this season as he's been called up to the Morocco squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers 5 years after his last cap.

You must have enjoyed yesterday, cracking scoreline against Lazio and Celtic won the cup. Turgid first 90 mins, Broadfoot trying to catch McGeady at the end was funny.

Bobo: I think you got enough of a present from Frey last night. Many happy returns all the same.

A great Sunday indeed, humiliating Lazio at home was quite pleasing, while beating Rangers always has the same wonderful feeling. You just knew McGeady was getting past that lump of dung

A tough run home,

Juve away followed by Milan at home .

eases up a bit with Siena away and Udinese home and then straight into

Roma away, Inter home, Genoa away. Then just for fun the season closes with a relegation battle against Bologna and a trip to Napoli.

Tough ask and only a 6 point buffer at the moment.
Chievo also have to visit Roma & Genoa and host Inter

Dunno, he hasn't dropped the ball yet so it probably is Maradona.

A couple of things that have taken me by surprise today:

1- Paul Merson's advert for BetterBet. WTF!

2- Maradona's claims about Pele losing his virginity to a boy. Which according to Tim Vickery is true as in an interview for playboy done years ago Pele says that he and his team mates used to shag eachother.

Where did you read that?

I checked Tim Vickery's BBC column yesterday but didn't see anything at all relating to Pele and what he may or may not have done in the way of youthful indiscretions...

Wasn't in his column, he was on talksport on monday afternoon discussing the Pele- Maradona spat. I'll be listening to him on 5lives World Footy phone-in on friday, someone's bound to ask him about it.
