what sort of match is that then? the 90 minute type! del piero is not going to be of any great use to the side unless italy can play a team like israel every week.
i agree theres not a great deal of choice upfront but i would go with quagliarella, who seems to be the best of the young/fringe forwards. playing alongside superpippo of course. i also dont understand why before toni's injury it seemed to be talk of toni or inzaghi, surely they would make for a good partnership.
im glad barzagli was given a chance at centre back. its a step in the right direction unlike the preposterous recalling of panucci!

My optimism is low about this game at the moment {boozed up and tired}
And SMS is right, Pirlo was the center of everything against France

Yeah, Bazargli. He really did admirably well.

A great win. The pace of Di Natale was quite a contrast to ADP and his pondering play at this level recently. Great win!
Great to see Panucci get a run. Surprised De Rossi didn;t feature though, but at least Aquilani did!!!
And even if Scotland winnig might not be the best for Italia, I like Scotland and they beat the f'n French which is always nice

Is that the same SuperPippo who was rubbish against France?

Good, Duncan. I know the Scots winning has complicated the group, but I'm just happy the french lost. Their arrogance and cockiness

Speaking of French arrogance:
They were unwilling to swap shirts at the end of last night's game. I really hope that by the time the last game comes along a draw is good enough for Italy and Scotland to go through. Then we can play out a really tedious, boring 0-0.
That'll really rile the French

And people wonder why the French get booed during their anthem. It's just the whole demeanor of arrogance and crap they put out. It is not directed at the nation as a whole {that wouldn't surprise me either though]

I'm sorry but it should be true that France have got the place to quarlitfy on the ground that Italia will have to crash with Scotland that means one must drop the points. So France just need to do the easy job by winning the rest 3 games.
The time is not for italia now as they must win against Scotland or they'll be in the 3rd place, assuming France win their match. So it would be easier for Italia if France just defeated Scotland last round to put Scotland in the 3rd place.
After all,i still hope to see France kicked out by Italia and Scotland. _________________ Forza Viola

Who is going to be the defence for the Georgia game?
Some of the forward selections raises a few eyebrows, hopefully Toni and Di Natale will start

Bazargli with no doubt has booked a place at the center and his partner should be picked among Panucci and Gamberini. The former one could provide experience and the later one is playing very well in the 2 seasons and Viola became the team conceding least goals was one fact to prove it.Gamberini is solid and stable but rarely catch people's eye and it would be nothing convincing of placing Bonera in the first line-up. _________________ Forza Viola

I would go with Barzagli and Panucci.
Of course, Chiellini can play either on the left or in the middle as well.

I wish! I just get to see the Ita v Wales games when they come to town.
I heard the next game will be the last in the current WC winning kit. The next had better not be an unlucky one! _________________ nino

I get this sinking feeling that Italy and Scotland will tie, allowing France to jump in and eliminating Italy at the end
Italy controlled the game today and should have won by more. Panucci was very effective in the middle as was Barzagli. Q was pretty much invisible.
