I thought that to myself too. The performance wasn't that great, Atletico were just that useless at the back.
Ibra hasn't quite gelled yet, and quite often he looks unsure as to the run he ought to make. Somebody like David Villa would've been more compatible with the system. But hey, Ibra has the talent to still make a massive impact.
I think when Iniesta begins to start games, he'll make a world of a difference.

Does anybody know why Kaka has been left on the bench tonight?

That would be because they're giving him a little rest.  Given that they could beat Tenerife with 8 semi-fit reserves, there's no need to have all their galacticos expending energy on the game.  I presume Benzema has been given a little run out in his place.

Kaka still scored a sweet strike. Terrible defending.

Just watched the goal on youtube - looked like it meant a lot to him...

And there was me hoping that they'd had enough of him and were planning to offload him on the cheap!

Trade mark goal by the fella tonight: brought back some old memories

The idiotic Spanish press were beginning to get on Kaka's back just a bit. There was talk that he was asked to take the pen in the last game just to get his confidence up. Seems to have worked, cracking goal. Plus, Benzema is getting better and better with each game.

Ibra just can't stop scoring. Though, if I played up front for Barca, I think I might just be good for 10 goals in a season.

Oh, and what is up with damn sky and showing delayed coverage??? They showed the Real match delayed when at the same time they could've shown the Barca game live. And then they showed the Barca game delayed during the time Valencia v Atletico were playing.

Looks like ITV4 have developed an affinity with Bilbao..After the home leg being on against Vienna they are featuring the tie against Werder on Thursday at 6pm...also Valencia v Genoa at 8pm on ESPN....nice

Nigel- What do you think of Muniain? He's said to be the next big thing. Loads of good young talent coming through the Bilbao ranks just now.

Isn't Muniain the kid (16 years old) they're all calling 'the new Messi'? I remember the Spanish pundits mentioning that his skills have been the cause of three players (or two, I think) being sent off so far this season! I couldn't find any footage of him on YouTube though.

Pedro seems to be making a bit of a name forhimself... Just scored a cracker! Good to see Pep using him more often.

Remember when we used to use this thread to talk about our favourite chocolate bars, or books we had read and enjoyed or things we had seen happen when we were out and about?

I miss those days.

Those halcyon days.

Hmmm, I'm not sold on him. Super finish, but I actually don't think he'll ever be a regular. Plus, he's already 22.

For the good of the league, Sevilla need to take something off Real Madrid tonight.

Its going to be an intersting encounter - Sevilla have won six on the trot while Real have won their last seven...

Sevilla v Real Madrid was comfortably the best game of the season so far. Sevilla absolutely tore them to shreds. If it weren't for Iker, it'd easily have been 4 or 5.
If I applied myself just a tiny bit, I'd probably be a better left back than Marcelo.

Muniain  looks to be quality..I really hope the Rojoblancos can keep a hold of him, Llorente and Martinez. This could be a good season although it's crucial that Yeste stays fit, Amiorbietta stays on the field and Exteberra is used a little bit more than Torquerro

Thursday at Bremen was a game where Bilbao didn't show first half but bossed the second..Should still qualify for the KO stages though then...who knows?

Was let down by the Barca v Valencia tie. Injuries and the timing of the match just after the internationals meant both sides were looking for a draw.
