Why are total strangers leaving teddy bears at her house? This country has gone mad. Apparently Jade's next television appearence will be on Most Haunted.

When's the Lying in State? Seem to have missed that news.
Always thought there was something deeply odd about her selling the rights to her wedding to Living TV.
'Not much f***** longer, you're not,' I mused, changing channels.

I don't know what's more barmy. The laying of teddy bears or the real anger of the "educated" middle classes that a working class person should have the temerity to make some money.
No doubt a wise viewing decision Dave but I'm not sure why you were watching Living TV in the first place. Given your deman that only talented people make it on to the box in your living room, Living TV is only ever going to make you cross.

I know I've criticised Goody rather harshly before for being a notable talent vacumn, but I'd agree (must be the painkillers I'm taking) with you George at the strange view that the 'lower orders' shouldn't make money.
Goody exploited the idiocy of TV companies and celebrity magazines prepared to pay her (no doubt smugly believing they were exploiting her idiocy). Can't blame her for that.
What I find objectionable, believe it or not, is that the media think that the 'working class', whatever that is these days are so universally thick that they'll lap up any old rubbish, when in fact the truth is that there's a cross -section of society obsessed with celebrity for the sake of celebrity, and which will accept any old horlicks. When some celeb of relatively little talent then passes away, we have grief-mongering on a large scale, which the media picks up and uses to perpetuate its hard-of-thinking approach to what we're supposed to class as entertainment.
The idea that it's confined to one particular strata of society doesn't, to my mind, seem to true, no matter what the Daily Mail would seem to like us to believe (although I never manage to make it to the end of any article in the Fascist, since my blood pressure reaches dangerous levels...)
Living TV would have been on in the Dave household because Mrs Dave would have been watching CSI, which, for all the dramatic licence seems to possess a cast and set of scriptwriters with a certain degree of talent.

Hang on: Goody was 'working class'? She had a job? _________________ My Jamaican missus trying to describe Amy Winehouse the other day: "What's the name of that coke head woman who went to St Lucia?"

Is this the same Jade Goody that George claimed would be entertaining us until she was a hundred?

Yes, it was a poor call, but it's nice to see that there are people in this world who not only read my drivel but remember it too!
On a related matter I've recently taken to passing the time at work writing to Guardian journalists telling them how disastrously wide of the mark their articles are and they invariably write back. One football journo e-mailed 4 times attempting to persuade me of his argument and suggested that perhaps I'd missed a link that would have explained all. The exception to my barrage of criticism is Larry Elliott, whom I praise to the hilt as the boy is touched by journalistic genius

Apparently before the funeral, she asked for her ashes to be put into little velvet purses and handed out to mourners.
She wanted them all to leave with a Goody bag......

Adopted.
Bought the new Jade Goody calendar, bloody thing only went up until March!
And un-Goody related.......
Josef Fritzel has been given 100 hours in house community service, apparently he's going to teach the McCann's to lock doors.

You should have your own comedy show Mickey. Apparently there's a gap in Living TV's schedules.

At last, a modicum of sense brought to the occasion. However, I await the backlash...

Fantastic words from Parky.
The thought of a film being produced to 'celebrate' her life is crazy, what's even more crazy is Patrick Stewart and Ross Kemp fighting it out for the lead role........

In Black and Blue's link, Michael Parkinson roared:
| Quote: | | the reality TV star represented "all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today" |
yet he also mewled:
| Quote: | | he wanted to interview the Big Brother star, saying: "She has a fascinating back-story." |
I think Parky's tools of thought need a sharpen, much like his crayons!
