English Settlement, by New Wave-ers XTC, is one of my favorite albums.

I've very recently discovered King Crimson. Their first two albums.....

and

.....are absolutely remarkable, the first one in particular, but both really. Not terribly keen on anything else by them, but it's early days.

Ahh, jazz fusion........ hmmmmm

Got an early birthday present yesterday - tickets to Kasabian at the Brixton Academy in July!

Couple that with PJ Harvey in a few of weeks time and that's two of my 'must see before I die' artists crossed off the list. Sweet.

Don't mean to be funny Mezz (pleased for you if that's what you like), but Kasabian are more of a 'would see if it were going to save my death' type band.

Nothing much going on in the way of music for me at the moment, very stale.

Hey, I understand that they're not everyone's cup of tea but it will make me tremendously happy to see them live. There aren't many of my favourite bands who's gigs my bird would accompany me to, but she's well up for this one which is an added bonus.

Any Idlewild fans out there?

They'll be headlining the free Godiva Festival in Coventry's War Memorial Park on 4 July.  No other acts confirmed yet, but it's usually a good festival - last year it was The Enemy, Glasvegas and Gabriela Cilmi...

Didn't know Idlewild were still together, not heard of them for ages.

I may look into this not being far from Coventry, will keep an eye on who else is confirmed.

I've listened to this hundreds of times since its release in Nov '08. A masterpiece, if you ask me. Thoughts?

Also in 2008, Mudhoney released a new album, The Lucky Ones.....

Any Radiohead fans out there? I read ages ago there was a new CD out by some r'n'b dude remixing older radiohead tracks but can't remember who it was at all. Can anyone help me?

Another long shot query....a few years ago on a Radio One show, I heard a remix of Smells Like Teen Spirit with Wicked Game (by Chris Isaak). Two of my fave ever tracks - does this ring a bell? If I could own this I'd be a happy man.

That's a bastardisation of two of my favourite tracks, Ferret.

I won't stand for it!

It was Radio 1 on a weekday evening after 6, but I can't be sure if it was Zane or maybe Scott Mills.
