And now De Rossi has a fever and might not play!  Perrotta is also out...i didnt realise he has a one match ban... not looking good.

this really is not good...ok missing one or two players it maybe sounds like an excuse in case of a bad performance or result but now its as bad as the situations Inter and Milan found themselves in in the last round.

I was really looking forward to this tie. Such a shame injuries and suspensions are perhaps going to wreck it.

Perhaps Roma should go on the defensive and ensure they don't concede an away goal, that way when players return in the return leg they can go all out?

All the best!

well i'm off to catch my ryanair flight to ciampino..just watching setanta it seems spalletti is throwing down the gauntlet "United are rubbish in Europe", excellent. De Rossi will play? the only news on the english papers & tv is that Totti is out but sure he's just a "luxury" isn't he?? (to quote Souness on sky sports)

early hopur it gets closer the more convinced i am we'll lose.
Although last night i dream we won 3-2, even that's not good because that's 2 away goals for them

Italian footie fans are all rooting for you.
Clean sheet would be good so defence need to be on their game tonight.

All the best for tonight, Roma. I’ve had to put up with manure fans bragging about how much of an easy game it’s going to be for them tonight!

Oh, and I hope that the night passes without any trouble - that’s the last thing Roma need!

Well, on behalf of all "manure" fans on the forum, I'm looking forward to a good game tonight, I certainly don't understimate Roma and, personally, would settle for the same result as last season to take back to Old Trafford, but expect something slightly better.

According to ITV:

Quote:
Roma's key man: Phillipe Mexes

The hosts will hope to keep a clean sheet at home and the French defender will be crucial to their defensive efforts. The 26-year-old has matured into one of Europe's finest and will need to put in a flawless performance to keep United's dangerous forwards at bay. Extra responsibility falls on his shoulders as he could be partnered either by the error-prone Ferrari or Juan, who is unlikely to be match fit.

I think roma have a good chance if de rossi can stick on c. ronaldo

The rest of roma's midfield should be free to roam... its just to keep their heads calm and hope that the backline holds up...

should be a great game

Will be interesting to see how Utd's back line fair without Vidic   lets hope nobody notices that I said something uncharacteristically silly here

Why don't Roma have any strikers?!! and why are their players so afraid of entering the penalty area?!!

Hums tune to the dambusters

Mezz, please accept my apology for my insulting remark. It was wrong of me to hope that Vidic - a man who is paid more money in a week than most of us here on this forum get paid in a year – would spend the rest of the season on the sidelines watching his team-mates go onto lift the European Cup along with the Premiership.

I let my emotions rule my actions more pruning otherwise we'd think you weren't being sincere

not sure which was worse, Roma's finishing/lack of ability to get near the goal or the ITV commentray.

No chance now, I say we feild the primavera in manchester (let's face it they can't be much worse than we were there last season) and focus on catching Inter.
