Of our new rumored hook ups, I would give a big YES to Diego Lugano.  Always liked his game.
And of the strikers, yes to KJH!  getting him from real and would be sweeeeeet.  Then we can sell Vucinic to Man United for some big cash.

Who would you get to replace him? Someone that is as versatile as he is? Huntelaar is "only" a striker, and hasn´t exactly set the world on fire at Madrid... I wouldn´t sell Vucinic anywhere. He is young, he´s got pace and is very skillful, and although he does waste a lot of chances he does score goals.

Lugano on a free would be a great signing. Juan does seem very injury prone so a quality centreback is a must for next season. I'd also keep Vucinic as well unless it was a silly offer. Get Baptista sold asap.

Just reading C4's site news and saw the Marcus Berg article. I'd definitely be interested at 9.5m as he's been outstanding in the U21s.

My basis of selling Vucinic is because it was rumored we could get maybe 20 mill out of Man United for him.  Bye Bye

Craptista can slink off as well.

KJH with Totti upfront would be a good bet.   Or take a risk on RVN

I remember a number of years ago when Luis fabiano was at Sao Paolo, I was yelling for us to get him.

Hmmmmmmm

Interesting to read about Totti's contract talks, he's out of contract at the end of the year and able to speak to other clubs with a view to signing for someone else in 6 months. But for obvious reasons there is no expectation that he would be remotely interested in moving.

Are there any other players of his level in world football who wouldn't even be hinting about a move to push up the wage offer? Paul Scholes maybe? not many I can think of.

Pretty refreshing in these times when players like Lampard are kissing the badge one minute and threatening to walk the next.

The transfer window opens at midnight so things might liven up. Hopefully Man City might come back in for Baptista now the Eto'o deal is off. Taddei might leave as well according to reports which would be the right thing as he's struggled the last two seasons. At least they would boost the transfer fund a bit more.

We need a striker and I'd take the gamble on Van Nistelrooy as he's available for peanuts.

Me too.   couldn't hurt if we got him cheap and his wage demands dipped.

Selling Craptista and Taddei would be good to raise some funds

Guess a lot depends on ownership

Maybe we should be looking at Eidur Gudjohnsen.?.?
RVN should have a few years left in him, but his wages might prove to be a problem.

Still difficult to think what kind of forward we need or are likely to play with next season. Do we need a replacement/back-up for Totti in the No 10 position like Gudjohnsen, or an out and out forward like RVN?

If Vucinic stays, with the top wage he is on it will be difficult to imagine we will bring in another top earning centre forward to play ahead of him if we play with one up front. So are we likely to be looking at a fast wide forward in the mould of Henry?

Regardless which formation we play I think we need an out and out goalscorer in the mould of Huntelaar in the squad, as when Totti or Vucinic don't score our goals threat does look a bit limited.

Give Brighi a new improved contract! After his displays last  season he deserves one.

I agree!  If we can pay crap like Cicinho, Craptista, and Loria any money, Brighi deserves a raise!

I'll miss Montella as he always tried his best. Bye Vicenzo and good luck.

Good to see the team has started pre-season training so early. Hopefully they'll start off a lot better than last season.

Strange comments from Fioranelli's lawyer about Totti. Not the way to win over the fans.

I'm glad that Spalletti said we need a forward because it means we might spend some money at last. Get on with it then.

So long to the little aeroplane. Always enjoyed watching him play, from his breakthrough at Sampdoria to his peak with you guys.
