I don't think they're out to get Grant, per se. I reckon it's just getting at Chelsea through him. Like United trying to put a block on him as a coach. Even though they have a point it will always appear that they are trying to unsettle one of their main rivals.

And I think it's also more a case of the media liking the Special One than hating Grant. He was 'good for the game'. Unless he's slagging off the Ambulance Service, other players, managers, officials, etc.

Everybody knows that Mike Dean is a Holocaust denier. I mean have you ever heard him acknowledge the Shoah on Match of the Day? Well there you are!

Dean would have very strong grounds for pursuing a libel action, and it would be appropriate for the FA to get UEFA to 'seek clarification' from the Israeli FA (i.e. invite them to tell Carmeli to shut up) as to what, exactly, Carmeli meant with his reference to anti-semitism. Given the sensitivity of accusations of anti-semitisim in Israel, he's almost certainly brought the game into disrepute.

What next? Alleging that Steve Bennett has family links with the Waffen SS should he award a penalty against Chelsea?

I quite agree with the other comments about Sky (in particular) having a sad on about the fact that Mourinho isn't around to entertain them with his remarks after matches.

I thought Schindler's List was a load of old bollocks.

Does that make me anti-semitic?

Sorry, the subject of the question is the CWU, not Crozier and his mates.

The useless fatherless lot in my area are spectacularly inept almost to the point that I can't tell the difference between them being at work and on strike.

Registered post - don't bother bringing the item, rather, they push a card sending you round to the depot through the letter box, rather than have to bother ringing the bell, signing the form, etc, etc. Done this at least five times - on one occasion when I saw the postman through the front window and he saw me...

Mrs Dave's car documents - sent, but missing without a trace
Mrs Dave's car insurance - sent, but missing without a trace
House insurance - sent, but missing without a trace.

They're absolutely, er... I think the phrase I require rhymes with 'ducking wit', and I couldn't care less whether they end up living in cardboard boxes (which they can at least line with all the mail they've not bothered to deliver). In fact, I find myself in the position of being slightly pro-Adam Crozier in this one, which is akin to Vladimir Putin saying 'Y'know, that Litvinenko chap isn't so bad after all'.

It's my birthday thursday - I'm not going to get any cards!

I don't know a lot about this strike really - I reckon it's quite significant though and support it in a way. I think it's quite a worrying thing in this country that so many manufacturing jobs (and jobs like working at the post office) are being lost for whatever reason, most notably because they can be done cheaper abroad.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7025413.stm

In my home town the chocolate factory has announced it is closing soon-ish - that's a lot of jobs in the local area gone over night (500 it says) - I know a lot of people will get other jobs but there'll be a lot that don't too - like older folk who haven't earn enough to retire but don't stand much chance of getting another job now.

Besides at Cadburys they've all worked there about a dozen generations - they're a bit like a seperate race in K-Town - they could never adopt to doing anything not to do with chocolate. This country has an ever widening income inequality gap, I don't really see the logic (moral or economic) of taking away so many jobs that are accessible to poorer, less qualified people.

I think the income inequality will widen further and really the state and society will pay in the end cos it has the crappy dependent half of the country to pay for! I think every effort should be made to keep jobs in this country because I don't really want to see it go down the toilet for generations because the people who run the place are CEO type gimps (evil capatalists, in other words) who implemented wave after wave of profit maximising exercises under the guise of "cost cutting exercises".

(I wish they'd deliver my birthday stuff though)

If you are ever near the Cadbury factory btw stop by the shop and you can buy loads of cheap chocolate - it's all fine it's just a bit wonky or they made a batch of Picnics but forgot to put the peanuts in - it's a bit random. One of the Wurzels drinks in the social club there too - I worked in the skittle alley one summer and used to see him drinking up his cider, what a ledge

Royal Mail worker David Wall, a postman with the Walton office in Liverpool, said hundreds of postal workers had gone back to the picket lines to protest against the changes to flexible working hours.

These included the end of the freedom to leave early once staff have finished their round.

Mr Wall argued this loss of flexibility, and not pay, was the reason why he was on strike and said that he believed that was the case for most of his Royal Mail colleagues.

I'm sorry, but I work the hours for which I am paid. I don't decide to bugger off home when I've had enough for the day. My initial thoughts were that the pension/pay related changes formed the basis of the strike. But when all it amounts to is a lazy-arse bastard workforce, I'd rather they give jobs to johnny foreigner who'll at least put in a long, hard-working shift.

It's stuff like this that makes me think we're crying out for a proper Conservatives' government. We live in an overly softie apologetic society.

I'm sure the senior management and company executives lead by example in this matter.

My sympathies. I experienced that during the summer strikes.
The postie knocked on the door this afternoon and in the 30 seconds it took me to get to the door he was already writing out one of those "collect it your bloody self" notices. Grr.
I might feel sympathetic if this was about dodgy pay but it isn't. They want carte blanche to keep on with all their various fiddles. I used to be mates with a couple of posties and they did everything they could to work the system.
They will be sorry when they are all out of a job. Tsk !

They do. They're a bunch of useless gits too, as far as I can see (but shockingly well remunerated for their qualities).

BTTMUQU:

Some Scotland fans, ok, make that Hibernian supporters. I watched the match in a pub in Leith, filled with Hibbies and they did nothing but criticise the team even before we went down a goal. Their gripe... the team was wearing a maroonish strip, so they didn't deserve to win, how pathetic is that? They need to have a word with themselves so they do.

Also, Scotland getting beat has made me quite upset.

I was attacked work yesterday. I was hit full force in the face. Funny thing was I managed to stay on my feet & not get carried out of work with an ice pack. Now imagine if that happened on a football pitch....
