Just one of those nights that everything fell into place. Personally looking back to the opener v Bari or the Super cup v Lazio we created a lot more and ended up with nothing.

Of the goals,

1st defender cacked himself to knock it into his own net
2nd Zanetti pinched the ball back launching a well finished counter
3rd Deki freak show
5th Maicon was gifted the goal.

Really only Vieira's was well worked but we had other chances.

Goals aside, the most pleasing aspect for me is how well we defend. Genoa are a free scoring side but they never looked like coming close to finding a goal.

Personally the result was an exaggeration and I hope it doesn't lead to complacency v Kiev on Wednesday morning.

yep, CL game this week will prove whether we are capable of maintaining that level of game or not.
Let my 5 year old boy watch a bit of the game and he was doing cartwheels when he saw a goal. Interisti of the future in safe hands.
Might even convince his mum to let us go to a game soon. Result !

could have been worse he could have brought on Mancini and Quaresma :-P

Shame Sneijder corner at the end didn't get to the back post would have loved Materazzi to put us in front.

3 games to go including a trip to Kiev and Barca. 5 points might be enough but we need two wins to be safe. Looks like it's going to be a battle right up to the last game at home to Rubin.
