"Hoist by our own petard" here on this one B'n'B. The problem lies with our continual policy of buying in from (especially) South America at the expense of nurturing or investing through to first team our home grown talent. More often than not we buy quality but because we have a concentration of argentinian and more increaingly Brazilian players, when national squads come calling we are left short with players absent, in recovery or injured on duty.

I fear that it will have a bigger impact on us than our closer rivals. Come the end of the season it might count.

Good half from the boys although Catania are not out of it by any means. Cesar has had a good first half along with Figo. Solid from Dacourt and Cambaisso as expected. Maicon a bit off the pace. The big thing for me in this game is Adriano is playing with a smile on his face! He completely fluffed a 4 yard pass within the first 5 mins and the crowd starting jeering. That motivated him and he went off like a bullet(?) after that. He has been in the game a lot and has really just been unlucky not to score. Would love him to get a goal as with this attitude it looks like it might not be long before we see some full return to form.

When I move home (hopefully next Friday) I have to make sure the pc is next to a tv! I can't keep running downstairs to flick between the MotoGP in Estoril (Valentino Rossi, an Inter supporter, has just taken the lead) and Juve v Udine on Channel 5, while trying to listen to I Nerazzurri and Signor Scarpini upstairs !

Heard a great phrase just now on the MotoGP: 'About as much use as the bottom half of a mermaid!'

Brilliant, we win 2-0 and Juventus lose at home. Cant ask for much more when you consider Milan drew with Siena.

A draw or a defeat for Roma would have been nice.

Thats fkg pathetic.....11 strangers who didn't seem to know who was playing where and Ibrahimovic not willing to pass the fkg thing.
Samuel wouldn't get a game in our pub team.
Did anyone notice how unfit the players looked.Stanko and Samuel like two cart horses .
The worst display for a long long time....

Tonight's performance was exceptionally poor. Our players - and Mancini - have to realise that no one fears us in Europe. Everything has to be earned on the pitch.

We could also do with a decent sized crowd against PSV but we know it'll be around 25,000 or thereabouts.

Pathetic

Still coming down from the efforts of the lads at Ibrox ( ). But disappointed by Inter. Saw the goal on the big screen at Ibrox at half time and while it was a good strike, who the hell was marking him?!

There's been a strange atmosphere round the club this season with it even being suggested there has been a thought process within the dressing room that we just need to turn up to win trophies this season.

All I'm saying is that there is a fantastic managerial talent now apparently out of work. In fact, was one of the summer's rumours not about Mancini to Chelsea? I for one wouldn't mind that as long as the man he'd replace came to us, although he might have had his fingers burned working for one rich owner who made his money from oil to go and not work for another.

This talk about atmosphere at the club has hit the nail on the head. Once again I think we are suffering from too many big ego's dominating. Having watched Ibra a couple of times this season I think his attitude on the pitch is questionable. Trouble is he can be a genius but when a ball bounces awkwardly off his thigh he shrugs his shoulders. With the news from Chelsea today a wonder whether Moratti's thoughts strayed to a new brush over his breakfast this morning?

I would say the answer is without a doubt. Let's face it, he's never been overly convinced by Mancini, going on record many times about how he considered his position over the summer of 2006. And am I right to be under the impression that he's stated his admiration of The Special One too?

I know Jose's style of play has been questioned but we have to learn to walk before we can run. Our first proper Scudetto for 18 years was won last season and with a bit of style but it's one success in 18 years! We need to get back to winning regularly, and at the highest level. That means regular Scudetti, latter stages of Champions League every year, with the odd final success here and there. If we need to start off by winning ugly then so be it, it's better than losing ugly as we did last night.

The other thing I like about Mourinho is that he thinks about the team and the squad more than just wanting superstars, one of the problems his previous employer had with him - couldn't understand how the starting 11 couldn't feature nothing but world class names (you think Real Madrid would have taught everyone a lesson there). The signing of Shevcunto a prime example, Jose didn't want him and he's been proved right about it.

I think he would deal with our ego enriched dressing room well, getting rid of the ones that are more interested in themselves than the greater cause. I also think he has man management skills far superior to that of Mancini, anyone else think that Jose may be the man to get Adriano back to his old self?

I'll always be thankful to Mancio for last season, but my main concern and love is for Inter, not him, and what is best for this great club of ours. And before anyone suggests it, this is not a 'Mancini Must Go' message. I have had no great desire to get rid of our current manager. But events have taken over here, and there is now a better manager available to start right now and with no need to compensate a club. Mancio is good, but Mourinho is a phenomenon (7 years undefeated at home speaks for itself).

I didn't watch the game last night, but on Sky afterwards they said that Inter fielded an under strength side. Why? Surely it's important to get off to a strong start in the CL rather than be playing catch up immediately.

Let's think: Cordoba, Maicon, Burdisso and Cruz suspended after Valencia. Vieira injured thanks to Domenech.

Chivu injured due to his own stupidity.

Adriano and Cesar left out of CL squad.

you forget Materazzi. Marco was one of our most important last season.

Too early to sack Mancini but if current form persists the writing is on the wall. I don't think a midseason sacking of a coach is going to do us any favours, but he's got to start lifting the intensity in the squad.

My biggest grief with Mancini is I can't understand his logic. He doesn't want Cesar in his UCL squad but then uses him as a first team regular in Serie A. To top that off he gives Solari his first run in the CL with no match fitness in his legs.

It's like he's trying to use our Coppa Italia side for the Serie A and save his best 11 for CL. He needs to start giving the side some continuity wherever possible (bad enough we have suspensions and injuries we don't need some weird arse player rotation 4 games into the season). Do we really need to change our forward formation every 60 minutes. Rest with a combination, (Ibra and Crespo) and be done with it, if someone else gets a chance and performs they hold their spot how hard can it be.

That being said it's only September. Considering how poor we've been we're still 3 wins away from the last 16 and 2 points adrift of Roma so it's far from doom and gloom.

Oops, you're right. Probably one of our most greatly missed absentees.

A big period coming up anyway with Livorno (a), Samp (h), Roma (a) and PSV (h)
