PSV . . . . . CSKA and Fenerbahce. In football terms I think we have done well, in geographical terms I think the only away game I'll be getting to is PSV.

I don't like the presence of PSV and Fenerbache..The Turks are too unpredictable.
Group of Death ?

No Nige my other love got the group of death - Barcelona, Lyon, Stuttgart & Rangers.
PSV was the easiest of the second seeds (if such a thing exists) and the other two are beatable. Although a trip to Turkey is never a comfortable experience!
I think Inter will progress (and Rangers face a struggle not to finish bottom). That's as long as we start pulling the finger out. _________________ Campioni d'Italia 2006-2007

I'm with Gingeki on this I think we look like top seeds in this group and will qualify. Each team is more than beatable in Milano and top place is ours if we can collect 2 or 3 points from the away legs.
Emoticons travel guide to away matches:
CSKA Moscow =
PSV Eindhoven =
Fenerbahce =
I'm off to the PSV game (Phillips stadion looks fair decent), flights are reasonable from UK and then I'll hang on for a belter in the 2nd group stage.

For those of you who are members of the Inter London Club a new subject has been started on the forum at the website as to whether the club should change to more formal procedures. Might be worth getting your two penneth in.
Personally I have never had any problems with the ICL the way it is. Current leadership have always turned up with the goods, the info and the tickets when needed. But then again I am an Interista from the regions so I don't look to the club for social interaction. Maybe that is one point that could be looked at . . . . If we gave the Inter club more of a UK slant would it encourage more people to join? I don't know I suppose I get a bit envious really that things are so London centric . . . but then if that's where the bulk of the members are it makes sense.
Presumably the Centro Coordinamento in Milano are happy with the way things are run so what would we actually gain by formalising the infrastructure . . . introducing ballots etc. After all we are a collective of UK based Inter Milan fans not a political organisation.[/b]

I know Channel 5 now has limited live rights for Serie A but what has happened to Setanta's coverage? They clearly used images of Serie A when advertising pre-season. Last season they would have had this evening's game on live. I can feel a phone call to complain coming on.......
Anyway, enjoying the traditional way of following Inter (pre sat TV coverage of recent seasons) which is via the mouth of Scarpini ( legend).
We're 1 up by the way, nearly half time. Ibra after 14 mins from Maicon's cross. _________________ Campioni d'Italia 2006-2007

Got to go to IKEA (under orders) so will miss the second half. Doesn't sound like an easy game . _________________ Non mollare mai.

A fairly steady first half with good showing early on from Ibra and enough from Cesar. Unfortuantely, he got a knock on the head and then got booked and doesn't quite look at the races now. Excellent fast passing lead the ball over to Maicon hugging the right touchline level with the 18 yard line he bent a curving cross towards the far post where Ibra steamed in and toe poked it in the opposite direction passed the keeper. Naturally enough Empoli woke up and held the ball well for long periods. They have had one good penalty shout turned down and two very good chances. We continue to look like we could move up a gear . . . question is really why don't we just do it. It has got the feeling that if Empoli score it will be late on and it may prove to late to up the gear at that stage. A second goal would truly dampen the tuscan spirit. Fairly early on I'd like to see Figo on for Cesar and Crespo on to partner Suazo. 3 points is a must 8-)

Well that's a bit more like it - a nice 2-0 away win. Hopefully now we can start putting a run of wins together and start racking up points. _________________ Campioni d'Italia 2006-2007

I agree. Notice how we did better with Cambiasso back.

It was funny he was barely noticeable but put in a really good show at the same time. Although Ibra scored two goals I worry sometimes about his demeanour. On a number of occasions when he let the ball slip form his control - he just kinda raised his hands and shrugged his shoulders in typical Ibra stylee. Great when your winning not sure about the effect on team morale when your up against it. Personally think Il Capitano should maybe have a word in his shell like.

Adriano was excluded from the 25 man CL squad,; another low for the Brazillian. Inter probably left him out because they were expecting him to leave. Adriano doesn't seem to bothered by this snub and insists that he is tranquil
This whole Adriano affair is a real sad story.

They go on about Beckam's transatlantic journeys to play for his country but the South Americans have been doing for years. Just take a look at some of the players we are 'losing' to internationals far, far away: Burdisso and Zanetti to Melbourne for Australia v Argentina, for a friendly for chrissakes (even further than transatlantic!); Maicon to Chigaco and Boston, more friendlies, Brazil v USA and Mexico; Suazo for Honduras, v Costa Rica and Ecuador, friendlies.
Will this affect our title challenge? _________________ Non mollare mai.
