Your Italian's fine. Mine is rusty, it should read 'rossoner o'! But I'm a pedant. _________________ My Jamaican missus trying to describe Amy Winehouse the other day: "What's the name of that coke head woman who went to St Lucia?"

Probably still upset about one of their own having his Vespa thrown from the top tier
I don't know a lot about the fan rivalry but Atalanta & Inter aren't too close. I can't see them being too keen to come across and watch a Scudetto celebration, had it been a chance to help us lose a Scudetto I'd guess it would have been a different story.

It all started out so well. 1-0 up in 6 minutes and playing probably the best football I’ve seen at home this season. When you see Figo play like that you almost wonder why he’s retiring. Definitely good enough for the Prem. Bolton, perhaps? He worried Atalanta for the whole of the time he was on, with his cross leading to the first goal. Muntari. Every time I try and slag the guy off he comes up with a game where he plays a blinder. Does he secretly listen to me? Do I have that influence? I hope so. Maybe I can work on Jimenez… |
Interesting stat on Muntari is with the exception of the Coppa Italia we never lost a match with him playing.
I was lucky enough to be at the last home match against Torino in 2007 and was definitely a highlight. (Only managed to get a ticket thanks to Chuckie). Same blue carpet being rolled out, looks like plenty more wear to come.
Regarding Ibra, you can't really fault the club, a lesser man wanting to leave would be causing all sorts of problems. He's improved year on year, in a side I personally think have weakened year on year since his arrival.
If he goes, his time at Inter may have cost Moratti nothing as his transfer fee might cover the initial transfer and wages paid. Not much more you can ask.
The guy seems goal driven and if he can't be convinced of goals worth achieving at Inter then best he goes. That being said I doubt he'll leave.

I've got no reason to lie to you
For me 06/07 was our best side. Cruz, Ibra & Crespo were all in the goals. We dominated everyone we played including Milan who went on to win the CL. It was just a shame that Cambiasso got injured in the first leg against Valencia. We had the league won by February but with other injuries and Cambiasso missing the return we start the 2nd leg with Burdisso in midfield and never looked like scoring. We could have fielded two teams that season and finished 1st & 2nd. Materazzi was brilliant, scored 10 goals from the middle of defence and owned the field.
Last season we kicked away again by Christmas, we brought in Suazo & Chivu but Crespo & Cruz started to come off the boil in the return home. Against Liverpool the two reds and Cordoba getting injured was too much for us to overcome, again struggled to score. The wheels started to fall off on the Mancini bus in February and only Balotelli and the return of Ibra from injury saved us from coughing up the Scudetto. Materazzi started the season with an injury that nearly ended his career, he's never returned to his 06/07 form since. Samuel & Cordoba took turns with knee injuries our depth was still good enough to keep us ahead of Roma though.
This season we pretty much played the same squad just another year older with Muntari the only real addition. We never played well in Europe including the group stage. Our depth was probably at it's worst with us getting little from players like Figo, Vieira, Cruz, Crespo, Jimenez, Burdisso, Rivas etc etc, players that in the past stepped up and keep us at a high level. This year it was a lack of competition that saved us. Roma fell away badly, Milan recovered slightly but started from a long way back and Juve still showed they were a side that recently played in Serie B, barely improving. Even Mourinho admits had we made it to the semi's of CL we probably wouldn't have won the Scudetto. For the first time in three years the squad looks vunerable. In past years playing our B side we easily made the finals in the Coppa, this year we took a 3-0 loss to Samp. Like I've said before we have 7 starters and about another 7 players that deserve to be in the squad, meaning we need at least another 6 or 7. Previously years I would have said 2 or 3.
Never before have we been so dependent on Cambiasso & Ibra. Julio Cesar had his busiest year and our injury problems at the back just keep getting worse.

Ibra for £70m or money minus sum for Yaya Touré?
STELLAR! I'd take that immediately. Go go go. Assuming that's £50m left over you could buy an exceptional defender for that money and have £20m(+) left to invest in a striker to replace Ibra. We would need a striker better than our others, although Milito, Balotelli and Arnautovich as strength and depth is pretty fat.
Who would we go for?
(Im guessing Etoo and Xavi are no gos, realistically. I dont want Etoo. It would be like signing Ronaldinho. He's lightweight and too similar to Milito. We need someone bigger methinks.)
Otoh Yaya Toure? Surely we need an attacking midfielder as we already have Zanetti, Cambiasso, Muntari and Thiago Motta who can do a great job in def. midfield?
This is going to be an interesting summer.
Thoughts gentlemen? _________________ http://bringtheparty.blogspot.com/

We havent always had that but we do now. Only experience and a top coach like Mourinho can bring that.
Im optimistic next year we'll be even stronger even if we lose Ibra.

I agree. Eto'o isn't the player of a couple years' back.

I like Elano rumours. And he's fallen out of favour so £10m might well get him. _________________ http://bringtheparty.blogspot.com/

Hello everyone.
Just though I'd drop into this thread seen as it's my team.
Used to go by the moniker of 'sidudeuk' on the old C4 forum, by the looks of things this is the reincarnation of that.
Hope to get back to posting regularly again!
Forza Inter!!!!

eto'o + 10 mil in exchange for ibra..is in the rumour mill..eto'o is an exceptional centre forward but he would never match the goal scoring rate he enjoys in La Liga against Serie A defenders

Eurgh no. I definitely don't want Eto'o. I dont like him and he's being greedy. I'd rather have Benzema. Or Ibra not go.
Still the most worrying thing for me is Maicon being disgruntled. Do Inter really not respect him? _________________ http://bringtheparty.blogspot.com/

Yeh, Inter better settle him quickly or risk losing the best right back in the world, one of Serie A's best players..we as a league cannot afford to lose another quality Brazilian

Lyon have admitted they are interested in Vieira, there's the silver lining in amongst all the clouds.

Ibra for Higuain and a truck load of Real money
Would be sweet. Especially if the money was enough to buy another two players that warrant starting berths.
Would almost be hilarious watching Ronaldo & Ibra playing side by side trying to out show each other while Kaka's prays for their sins
Fortunately I don't think it will happen. I'm not a believer of selling your champions. For all the transfers you have to go through to find a player that makes the difference, you can't possibly let go of the likes of Maicon & Ibra...... however in the back of Moratti's mind I'm sure he recalls a certain offer from Real for one young Adriano
