Not football but, if they're at home, try and get down to Toulon to watch the rugby. Watched their game against Stade Francais a couple of weeks back and there were more punches thrown than at an Amir Khan fight!
Football is not well attended in France and, due to the size of the country, few away fans will make the trip so tickets should be easy to come by.

This is my first post. I'm hoping to go to some games in Italy this season, all over really. What's it like for a Brit? I won't be wearing colours or anything but anyone in Italy can tell I'm British because I dress so badly. I don't want to get stabbed in the buttocks or anything. Where's good/bad to go? Is it really as grim as some people make out?

Nah you'll be fine. Best bet is to stay out of the Curvas (behind the goals) and stick to the more expensive seats...

I'm presuming everyone else has seen this page on the Calcio Italia site (only just noticed it myself), but just in case...

Can anyone tell me if it's easy or a pain to get to the centre of Milan from Malpensa airport by train or bus? Grazie!

I've only flown to Linate but as far as i know from when i reseached it there's a shuttle bus that takes about 50 minutes from Malpensa to Milano Centrale train station, depending on traffic.
If you happen to be going from Torino to Malpensa, there is a direct bus called Sadem, takes about 2 hours.

Probably the easiest way to get to central Milan is to take the night train from Paris, which you can do from £60 return. It's not an early start from London and you get time for a croque monsieur in Paris on the way. The Eurostar to Paris costs about the same, if you book ahead. Brunch in London, late lunch in Paris, breakfast in Milan. If I was going to Sicily or Sardinia, I'd contemplate flying, but Milan, no. Far too much palaver.

Il Ferret, I have taken the train from Malpensa into Milan. It was only about 40 minutes and terminates at Cadorna station which also has a metro stop (red line). Cannot remember the cost as it was 2003, but it was not expensive. _________________ It's quieter than a church before the crowds arrive.

Cheers for the Milan help guys. Found a cheap-ish flight from Brum so I mght go for it. The train sounds a good idea for those conscious about the environment, but I don't give a shit really, and it'd be more than twice the price of the flight!

I'm not sure the train is the green option. It might be that getting four people in a small car is the 'greenest' way to go. But that's complicated calculations and not for here… More expensive? Probably, though maybe not so much of you're going for the weekend. The one thing the train does though is get you from city to city without hassle, which was my point. But it'd be interesting to compare prices. It's a long while since I made that trip by train but I hope to go to Milan or Rome by train in December (because I'm scared of aeroplanes) so why not make a note of what the trip costs you in transport and maybe we'll compare? Meanwhile, Ferret, have a bloody good trip!

I reckon I'd be looking at £20 to leave my car at Brum airport for 3 days, £80 all-in return for ryanair flights with on-line check-in and hand baggage only. So £100 for a 2 hour flight, 1 hour messing about before the flight, 90 mins and about €10 getting from the plane to the city centre? You can't beat flying (unless you're scared of course!)

My hat. I think you win, Ferret. I'm looking at £60 to London, £60 to Paris and £60 to Milan, plus tube/metro tickets: best part of £200. So that croque monsieur is going to cost me £100. It had better be good!

Anyone know if tickets are available for Milan - Napoli this weekend...?
I won tickets in an Italian Fantasy football last year and picked this match to go and see, I have my flights and hotel already booked but i'm reading everywhere that only season ticket holders and registered locals of milan can go to this match!
Don't know how i'd have got tickets for it if this is the case!
Gonna mail the company that are orgainising the tickets for me to see what the situation is but just in the meantime if anyone knows anything else abou this could they let me now please?
Thanks....... _________________ Formally Known As Milan1899

Maybe it's to prevent Napoli fans getting tickets - they're banned ffrom attending away games.

Shouldn't be a problem getting tickets for Juve-Bate game, now that it's a meaningless game. Pity i won't get to watch Alex, Nedved and anyone else who is rested. Hopefully Giovinco gets a full game anyway.

You shouldn't find it difficult to get tickets for the game against Catania.
There's actually an official Fiorentina ticket store now, which is on the corner of Via Giovanni Dupré and Via Settesanti (it's building number 28 on Via Dupré) about 200 meters west of the Artemio Franchi stadium.
Inside the ground, I would go for anywhere on the Maratona. Tickets for that area range from €30 for Maratona Laterale to €50 for Maratona Centrale. There are cheaper areas, such as Curva Ferrovia, but the view isn't so good.
All the best! _________________ ACF FIORENTINA : FORZA LA VIOLA
