Week 2, Internazionale show their class - Italian 'Serie A'

Greetings Calcio lovers!

Week 2 has been and gone, the major fixture was AC Milan's humbling at the hands of their city rivals Internazionale. Once again Antonio Cassano lights up Serie A but can't force his way into Marcelo Lippi's Azzurri squad.

Our goal of the week is Daniele Gallopa's strike for Parma, truly sublime.

Kris Voakes joins us from Milan, and gives us all the insight from in and around the peninsula.

We discuss the strengths and weaknesses of Italy's squad for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria. Who should be in and who should be out!

Our Legend of Calcio this week is Giuseppe Meazza, a man who isn't as appreciated as he should be. A legend who never got to grace our TV screens but who's impact on the game is huge. Two time World Cup winner, third all time Serie A goal scorer and second all-time Azzurri goal scorer.

'Matrix speaks' and lets you know his thoughts on the world of football, expect a special mention about the Milan derby!

Get in touch with us - italianfootballfancast@googlemail.com -  that is the famous email address. Become a friend of the show on Facebook and subscribe on iTunes, you know you want to!

In the news we cover topics as varied as Internazionales plans for a new stadium and the theft of Marco Materazzi's 'Magic Matrix World Cup' winning boots, what a week!

Wanna know what the great man thought? Marco informs you in 'matrix speaks', he wasn't happy!

Finally, we preview all the fixtures from the third round of games coming up in Serie A, Juventus visiting Rome to face Lazio should be the stand out game.

If anyone is interested in going on the show to talk about the forum, send me a PM or email with your username, with any other relevant info (i.e. not available during work hours, different time zone etc). Your phone number would be handy, but not essential just yet.
If you email it must be from the email address in your profile, so it matches your username.

I'm not saying you will be on the show, it's just incase the podcast crew do actually seek it in the future.

Aloha! Week 3 has been and gone, goals galore, dismissals and many other controversies. The good and bad of Italian football on show.

Genoa's humiliation of Napoli was the the main game but their were loads of other great games. Napoli's defeat will increase the pressure on Roberto Donadoni to turn his expensively assembled, underperforming side into the quality team they should be.

Kris Voakes is our 'Gentleman in Genoa', giving us the lowdown on whats happening in and around the peninsula, as ever he tells about the games he attended.

Dario Hubner is this editions 'Legend of Calcio', a journeyman player who worked his way up the leagues finally hitting the big time as well as the back of the net in his thirties. Dario, take a bow!

Your in for a treat this week because the 'top brass' is here. Andy Brassell, European expert on the BBC's world football phone-in, gives us his views on the Italian teams' performances in the UEFA Champions League.

Do you fancy winning 3 Nick Love DVD's, signed by the man himself? Yeah, thought you did! We inform you about a Football FanCast exclusive competition, letting you know how you can get your filthy hands on the goodies.

We look ahead to the matches of week 4, and hope it will be as good as the last round of games. Ranieri's Roma face La Viola at the Olimpico, Claudio got off to a winning start, will he keep it up against the Florentine visitors?

Finally 'Matrix speaks', Marco Materazzi lets off some steam about life, love and football. If you don't agree with him, he doesn't care!

Cheers and enjoy

Ciao! Week 4 has been and gone, goals galore, Cassano, Donandoni and a rare Milan victory. All this and more to come.

Sampdoria mauled Siena with Cassano starring once more, Napoli failed to win again, piling more pressure on Roberto Donadoni and Diego Milito saved Inter's blushes.

Kris Voakes is our 'Man in Milan', giving us the lowdown on whats happening in and around the peninsula, as ever he tells about the games he attended.

Roberto Di Matteo is this editions 'Legend of Calcio', a man who made his name in England, but was borne from Calcio.

We look ahead to the matches of week 5, as they actually happen. Sampdoria take on Fiorentina while Genoa play host to Juventus. A fantastic selection of midweek games are to be had.

Finally 'Matrix speaks', Marco Materazzi lets off some steam about life, love and football. If you don't agree with him, he doesn't care!

Week 5, Inter Reach the Summit - Italian 'Serie A' Football FanCast

Once upon a time there were two fans of Italian football, they made a podcast about Italian football and here it is ..... the Italian Football FanCast.

Week 5 is here and there's been plenty of excitement. Goals galore during Palermo's clash with Roma and another disappointing defeat for Milan, this time Udinese take the points off them.

Kris Voakes is our 'Gentleman in Genoa', he's going to the Sampdoria - Inter game and he'll tell us all about it next week. In the meantime he gives us his views on what's been happening in and around the peninsula.

As ever, Legends of Calcio is here for your listening pleasure. This editions legend is Sebastiano Rossi, a man who at one stage could not concede a goal and has an impressive amount of medals in his cabinet!

Week 6 is upon us, the big game should be Internazionale's visit to Genoa to take on Sampdoria, a top of the table clash. Could Cassano be the hero or will Diego Miltio make a winning return to the city?

Marco Materazzi is alive and kicking. 'Matrix speaks' is when he lets off steam and gives an insight into his beliefs. Always controversial but always interesting.

Get in touch with us - italianfootballfancast@googlemail.com is where you can send us your opinions and questions.

Enjoy the show

If you love hearing like minded people discuss Italian football then you are about to have all your wildest dreams come true over the next hour

Its Week 7 - Internazionale, Roma, Palermo, Genoa and Chievo fans should be smiling, your sides picked up victories. Roma's victory over Napoil was the final nail in the coffin for Roberto Donadoni as the President lost patience and replaced him Walter Mazzari, maybe he'll sort them out.

We bring you all the other news, happenings and gossip thats going on in the peninsula - Will Silvio Berlusconi sell AC Milan? Will Cassano ever get in the Italy squad? Will Adrian Mutu have have to pay Chelsea for his past activities?

Football is about legends, 'Legends of Calcio'. Jose Altafini's glorious career and goalscoring feats are being celebrated this time, we're sure you'll agree he embodies everything that being a legend is about.

The Azzurri have two World Cup qualifiers to play in the forthcoming week, Rep. of Ireland and Cyprus are the teams against whom they must get a solitary point from, to secure that trip to South Africa and defend their title. The squad and opposition are examined.

Finally, 'Matrix speaks' and he never fails to amaze us with his opinions and insights into the game. One day, Marco Materazzi will be an official 'Legend of Caclio', it's only a matter of time!
