Sampdoria

I noticed there wasn't a Sampdoria thread so thought I would create this one.

I have a feeling it will only be myself posting on it though.

Forza Sampdoria!

I like Vicenzo so I hope Samp get a few more points on board and stay up this season.

Sampdoria 2 - 0 Frosinone

(Fernando '44)
(Quagliarella '69)

Good performance today showing some really nice teamwork - as we seen with Fernando's goal. Five points clear now of the relegation places so hopefully we're starting to turn the corner now and can push on further away from the bottom three. The main thing is consistency and we must find that so I'm hopeful of a positive result away to Verona next Saturday.
Duncan!

I have always been a big fan of Quags.    He was one of the few in the 2010 World Cup team that could hold his head high

Alan, what do you make of Massimo Ferrero?  Is he misunderstood, or is he doing long term damage to the club with the debts that have apparently been accumulated, and the selling off of key players?

To be honest I think the man is a joke. He is running up debts and its frightening - he's struggling to keep the club afloat. And if reports are true that he's been taking loans from the Garrone family from upwards of 50 million euro's just to keep things ticking over then it shows that he cannot provide funds himself to keep the club in a healthy state, on and off the pitch.
When it comes to transfers it seems he's happy enough unsettling the team selling our best players and replacing them with uninspiring free transfers - Fernando excluded who I'm sure was bought for 7/8 million. When the president is controlling what players are being brought in and not the manager then it's a mission doomed to failure.

The appointment of Zenga to replace Sinisa as manager summed it all up for me, everyone except him could see that it would never work. Pure and utter incompetence.

He must go.
Liam

Thanks.  From the outside looking in those are my thoughts too.

The sooner this season finishes the better.

Montella having quite a few digs at Fiorentina before the weekend's match in Firenze. That should make it interesting!

Probable starting XI against Fiorentina:-

Viviano; Cassani, Ranocchia, Moisander; De Silverstri, Fernando, Krsticic, Dodo; Alvarez, Soriano; Quagliarella

Rickyyyyyyyyyy!

What a goal that was and a good result considering Its a tough place to go to at the best of times.

Not been a good season but can still enjoy a good result when we get one.

More than confident of staying up now, which is the least expected of a club of our stature, but like I said its not been a good season.

FORZA SAMPDORIA

The recovery starts here Alan.

Whatever happens next season will be a lot  better for Samp.................. provided that they stick with Montella.

I do hope so Luft, i'd love to see Vincenzo stay in charge for next season.

A change of president would be a good start...

A season to put behind you Alan and hope that the transfer activity in the close season improves the fortunes of Samp. I hope Montella is there in September.
