Gurjio go along with that, it looks as if the spitoon(see Totti) Poulsen is asking for too much money. Let Marchisio loose!
gurjio
So it seems that at least Cobollo Gigli has sense enough to listen to the fans and strive to buy a bigger name player than Poulsen. Which begs the question, why is he still allowing Secco to continue to be employed?
Secco grinning like a cheshire cat alongside his aquisition Knezevic was embarrassing.
Surely we can get someone in? We spent more money last year than the all the top clubs in Serie A, any fool whos played football manager could have used that 43M Euro better.
OriginalJuveboy
knowing secco, the surprise is we resigned vieri
'he was going cheap!! and he is still good!! honest!'
gurjio
I am sure if we do announce a surprise it will be the loan of either Ivanovic or Drenthe or both.
OriginalJuveboy
well it looks like poulsen is ranieris request not seccos, so i guess its as good as done....
Luftwaffles
As long as a creative attacking midfield player arrives before 31/7, I don't regard the Poulsen deal as necessarily a bad acquisition.
Claudio will get the tactical strategy right. Keep the faith.
Dylan1
Atletico are in negotiation with Van der Vaart can't we even, at least, compete with Atletico financially?
Luft where and who do you see as the creative acquisition?
No as far as strengthening midfield Poulsen, 26, is not a bad choice. He does the job well from what I have seen.
OriginalJuveboy
im not satying hes not a good player which he is but we need a 'great' player..otherwise well just be another mediocre team...
Dylan1
Original agree we need a 'Juventus player' a mega signing to put us back whee we belong.
Luftwaffles
Dylan, I would ideally have wanted Hamsik, Banega, VdV or Mancini. Cigarini even.
I think now that we we'll probably acquire Drenthe to add pace and creativity to the left attacking MF.
With Buffon, Flavia Roma/Cudicini as back up, Mellberg, Grygera, Chiellini, Legrottalie, Sissoko, Poulsen, Camoranesi, Zanetti, Giovinco, Marchsio, a fit Andrade, Iaquinta, Del Piero, Giovinco, Trezeguet, Amauri, Nedved with the possibility of Ivanovic and/or Drenthe I would say that it would look like an 'efficient' side a la Capello.
gurjio
Yeah but Luft, Capello had a side composed of Buffon, Trez etc plus Ibra and Vieira and made them look "efficient". Anyone else would have had that side playing champagne footy.
I trust Ranieri to get us a decent CL run this year and 2nd at most. He is not a winner, simple as.
Dylan1
Ranieri states 'Juventus are 'a powerful chameleon' Blinding, f.....g blinding!
gurjio
The surprise may be we get both Poulsen and Alonso - that would make Secco almost half competent.
If we dont get Drenthe on loan, we may get Pranjic to run the left.

Where would that leave Marchisio? I don't see the point in signing Poulsen. Like Amauri he's a good player, but not what's needed.

Good five goal start for Amauri against difficult opposition.

Poulsen. We are dead, bro.

----------
According to a Sevilla based newspaper (Diario de Sevilla) we're offering Almiron +3m eur for Poulsen.
This should allow a further MF player to arrive. Hopefully Xabi Alonso. If this happens then we are looking OK,
Duncan!
Don't think you need either. Just a better manager if Juve are to win the Scudetto
Ranieri is a nice guy and a good enough manager, but better than Carletto, The Special One, Prandelli, or Spaletti. I don;t think so
Dylan1
Fratello we got Poulsen I read today. Now we are going for Manninger. The hits just keep on coming....
From juves perspective we have time to get cover if we need it but thats so unlucky for Andrade im gutted for the bloke.
nino
Oh dear, he's not very lucky is he? Out for the season before it even begins after coming back from an injury that put him out for most of last season. Andrade will be a forgotten player it seems. Will we be replacing him or is Mellberg seen as enough?
gurjio
weve got Chiellini, Leggro, Mellberg, Knezevic and even Grygera and Zebina can play CB when required so i doubt we will.
But Zapata is still there waiting to be signed....
Anyone remember Vincent Kompany? wasnt he supposed to be amazing?
Mezz
Kompany was a big up-and-comer a few years back, but I think he's went off the boil a bit at Hamburg.
Both he and Vanden Borre were the most exciting players Anderlecht had a while ago, and we've all seen how Vanden Borre's performed since he left Belgium...
rossi82
I would not call the Andrade injury a disaster other than for him personally and professionally. We survived the entire season without him and we now have ore delth in defence. That said, this just opens many doors for quetionning yet again the vlaue that ALL of pur purchases last year have been a "write off". We simply played most of the season with our Serie B winning team enhanced by a couple of youngsters. Only Sissoko seemed to have made some difference but then again Zanetti has been class and I pray to god that we continue to play him as although he is a defensive midfielder, his assists are leathal. His performance against Inter in the return was one of the best defensive midfield performances I have ever seen.
Poulsen..ok, but then again, another defensive midfielder. If we are talking about Alonso again, then why spend the money on Poulsen. I seriously do not understand the thinking behind our transfer campaign. A 6 here and a 7 there and we literally have the sume of 40 million euros...enough to buy us two world calss players to supplement our existign team and the youngsters.
Drughi
Nobody is understand my dear friend.
It looks like my theory about Merda Gigli, Secco and other clowns being filled with Moratti money is working.
Yesterday there were new protests about Poulsen at preparation camp in Pinzolo. But they dont care...
We have 10 defensive midfielders and no right back and creative player in the middle.
They already splashed 80 milllions in two years for nothing.
About Andrade injury, it was expected...only crazy man could buy him after missing whole year in La Coruna.
Dylan1
Andrade I am truly sorry for. Life is very unfair at Times.
Fratello I saw the banner for Poulsen, it is very true. Drughi this is worse than the Dark Ages of Marchesi-Maifredi-Trappattoni2. At least then we had Roberto Baggio.
Just hope 'our' boys will do the business and Ranieri doesn't waste them.
Luftwaffles
If only Claudio was more assertive about his transfer targets to Blanc/Secco/Gigli the following would not have happened.
Flamini was on a free transfer. We offered hin 3 mil.per year and Milan offered 4 mil.Of course he choose Milan.
At that his demands about wages were too high for us.Maybe I agree that time. Now we sign Poulsen for 10 mil, and 3,5 mil.per year.
So who is cheap and who is expensive, who is clever and who is stupid.
Flamini is a better player than Poulsen and would costs us 8 million less for four years.
This f***wit Secco needs to be 'outed' as a deliberate Juventus harmer.
its baffling how they said 20M for diego was too expensive yet they are about to spend the same amount on 2 mediocre midfielders
i agree with the poster who said the dark days are back...
Dylan1
Now is Diego Capel our next target
OriginalJuveboy
he is too good
secco and co only go for mediocre overpiced players from the epl, im surprised they didnt buy crouch or bent
zeds
I don't get the furore meeting the arrival of Poulsen. I'd say he's on a similar level to Milan's new recruit; Flamini.
Poulsen probably won't be a starter, but a OKish squad player. He was certainly a key player for Sevilla over the last couple of years, albeit a little nutty.
delpiero
What madness is this ??!!! Poulsen is officially signed - Surely this madness cannot continue ?
Drughi
Well Zeds, only Chelsea has money to pay 10 million for reserve player. We are not in that league.
I still cant understand this move...he is just fighter and we already have Zanetti and Marchisio.
But when we talk about Secco, he is fool...real problem are Elkanns.

Yes he might be a good squad player but nobody's impressed at the amount of money we throw at him while admitting just over double that is too much for a high caliber player.
JuventinoNYC
Poulsen is the LAST SIGNING of the transfer season?!?!?! WTF
Raj!
I've f ing had now!!!
first we actually go and sign Poulsen...
...now that muppet Ranieri is sayin our transfer market is now closed.... we have a strong enough squad...
strong enough for what a 5th/6th place finish?!!!!
I was willing to give the geezer the benefit of doubt... but seriously.... claudio... f off and manage someone like toro!!!!
The small minded f wit has finally show us that he is nothing but small time!!!
Just hope Elkan and co go above the muppet's head and get us couple more players....
delpiero
Remember a few seasons back, signing Ibrahimovic in a nick of time ? Any chance of a repeat ?! Doubt it with these clowns in charge - So the spending spree is over and we now have a squad fit for the CL and Serie A ? Andrade crocked for a whole season and the mighty Poulsen our own summer signing ? Where will the creativity come from or will it be long balls into the box with Trez and Iaquinta battling in the box ?
The worst of it is, we've been conned into thinking Xabi Alonso would be our saviour - they buy cack like Poulsen, say they're spending no more, splash the cash on Alonso and then expect us to be grateful ?
OriginalJuveboy
our team is officially screwed we can do nothing now but hope that luck is on our side....

Juventini do not dispair...yes ive said sooo many times that this isn't the same Juve that we all know and love. We can all slag Ranieri off know but its what he does at the end of this season that counts, one thing iv'e learn't is not to talk too soon i mean you never know Juve might win the leauge only the futre will tell. However your all talking about creativity but you have someone extremely special witjin your ranks...GIOVINCO, i reckon Juve are doing the right thing not mounting too much pressure on him and i bealive that poulsen was a brilliant buy. Him and sissoko in the middle will be a brick wall, we'll hopefully see that nitty gritty Juve that Cannavaro and Viera once played in.
Duncan!
Maybe the "great" Poulson will get some face wash from Il Capitano and Kaka
Dylan1
Fratello, Buddy I don't think Ranieri will make Christmas.
J. Elkan was prepared to spend family, Ifil, money to secure Aquilani. Grand gesture. As everyone Elkan knows Aquilani like Totti and De Rossi will never leave Roma.
And it gets better no Stankovic but there is a new target De or Del Mul? You couldn't invent it. Are they winding me up?
Ronaldinho signs for Milan. Eto' moves to Uzbekistan for a 40m. deal. Secco can't even sign is own name. You couldn't f.....g invent it!
OriginalJuveboy
what gets me is they keep saying 'juve cant compete with the other teams financailly'..ok so we got a new sponsor, CL football, tv rights...why do they keep saying we have no money??
we have spent craploads on well crap, we have succeeded in buying 5 mediocre players..thankfully i think our young starlets and old champions will make the difference
i personally think of all the buys amauri may be ok, when i say him first come out with palermo and he was scaring inter and ac defenses and was scoring regularly i saw some potential, sure last 12 months hes been average, but hoepfully with a better class of player around him he may improve..but who knows??
delpiero
Excellent - A defeat to Piacenza
Yes, its only a friendly, but surely when we fail to beat teams from Serie B our board should not be making declarations like 'We have finished our transfer activity'
do they know something we don't ???!!!!

I am with you on this one. You wuill wait and wait for a surprise then August 30 comes and it will be them saying: surpriiiiiiiise.....
If I am an auditor or a shareholder I would cause the dismissal of the entire board. Someone really needs to go back and do some basic math. Tiago + Almiron + Poulsen + Andrade + the Italian player in defence I never heard of equals? Would that figure be enough to get us a decent player? I bet you the answer is yes
gurjio
16m gets ronaldinho and 8m plus 8m for Tiago and Poulsen...
I wonder, as fat as he is, how much Ron will do for AC this season?
a lot more than the clown crew.
Dylan1
Gurjio and sponsors money for Dinho
Lets hope they keep Tiago and he wakes up
gurjio
Dylan, my problem is that we arent being the typical tightfisted spending Juve. We have spent loads of money in the past 2 years but on no one that brings fantasy or guile.
We need one big signing to send a message to other clubs that we are able to compete in the Mercato.
10M for Mancini, we could have got him a year ago for that easy.
Even Lampard is going for 7M.
This is money we are already spending.
Case in point against Piace, who is going to lift us up when the squad isnt doing it? Capitano is getting old and Seba isnt there yet.
Admittedly we dont have the big players back from Euros yet but I am uneasy if we dont get one more signing.
Dylan1
Gurjio I meant the money Ronaldinho will bring to Milan.
What you say makes sense these lot think they can get bargains like Moggi and the 1 'name' per season strategy. All they sign is expensive crapJ uventus are second band level these days. I see an embarassing season ahead.
gurjio
Yeah I got it after reading it again.
Nice to hear Ranieri isnt concerned about the result. I admit, the youngsters are at the Olympics and the main men are on holiday but we are becoming a lower tier club.
I hope that if we are selling up then we do it soon and get this board and Ranieri gone.
But we know it will take us finishing 5th and crashing out of the CL for anything to happen.
nino
Well well, how about this - looking to buy Chimenti again! Superb. Now that is something!

Like Dylan said, you could not make this up. What next ?! We swap Seba for Di Vaio
Luftwaffles
What's all this stuff about Giovinco being monitored by Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Something about Seba being unhappy about contract negotiations. Doubtless some BS rumour. The problem I have is that I have no confidence with the present board of directors and Secco.
Secco is clueless. If he fell into a barrel full of tits he would come our sucking his thumb.
OriginalJuveboy
i see our shelf life staying as long as the veterans do...they will be the ones to keep us at the top of the table but i fear that once trez, adp, nedved, zanetti all retire within the next couple of years that we will go downhill after that
delpiero
Some more nonsense this morning about PSG weighing up a move form Iaquinta. Goes hand in hand with that guff yesterday about Seba.
It would be nice every once in a while, for the club to make some kind of public declaration about keeping hands of our players
I agree with your point there Juveboy. We have been looking to ADP, Trez and Nedved for years now - What will happen when they retire ? Where's the new blood from the Primavera team ? Ah yes, thats right, farmed out on loan until they get sick of us and move on or fobbed off in complicated co-ownership deals.
What chance Giovinco and Marchisio actually get a chance to show their worth this campaign ?
fabs miste
Its all very well that Juve have bought Poulsen but in my honest opinion the reason they have declared this statment saying that there transfer window is closed is beacuse Juve know that Liverpool have to sell Xabi Alonso so therefore it will force Rafa to sell him on the cheap, also if they do end up buying Alsono i can't understand how they will field him Sissoko, Zanetti, Poulsen, Giovinco and Marchiso all in the same team as in my opinion Giovinco, Zanetti and Marchiso will all be forced out of the line-up.
Here how i see Juve starting:
---------------------------Buffon--------------------------
De Ceglie----Molinaro--------Chiellini----Knesevic
----------------Sissoko----------Poulsen---------------
Camorenesi-----------------------------------Nedved-
-------------------Amauri---------Del Piero------------
Looks like theres no room form ADP despite last seasons 20 goal tally
At a push, I would like to see something like:
Buffon
Grygera Mellberg Chiellini De Ceglie
Sissoko Poulsen
Camoranesi Nedved/Giovinco
Iaquinta Amauri
Dylan1
The surprise might be Aquilani after all

well another reason they wont be buying is that the federation have banned secco from doing any transfers for a month
Blanc can still buy though. And transfers are done well outside of transfer windows (Alonso agreed to a contract from us pre July etc).
I still hold out some hope that we can pick one or two players up before September but this is the side thats most likely going to have to get us through the CL preliminaries.
If Amauri and Trez are 1st choice, watch for a lot of Chelsea style long ball punts next season
Blanc quote "we will win Serie A & CL this season" pure muppetry.
hmm maybe thats it, they are waiting to get through the prelims and if they qualify then they will get a decent player???
i remember that moggi did a similar thing before he bought zlatan
gurjio
Did he? Im sure he bought Vieira and Ibra before playing Djurgardens (could be wrong tho).
For once, we are in a strong buying position, it can be seen that we have enough players (numberwise not qualitywise). And liverpool simply havent got cash to get gary barry.
The big worry I have is Giovinco getting poached. Seriously stressing me out that one although Juventus hurra magazine has an article talking up Marchisio and Seba as Juve's next golden generation if that means anything.

gurjio dont worry if Seba and Marchisio will be sold Secco and the other baboons that run the Old Lady know that they will face blood in the streets, after all it's all well being a football supporter but its another thing supporting your country. Maintaing national blood in the team is important to Ranieri Juve has a proud history of maintaing Italian blood within the team, for example look at the last 2 italy teams that won the world cup...more than half the team were Juventini

Ibrahimovic arrived on 31/8/04 minutes before the transfer deadline, a week or two after both the Djurgardens matches (August 2004). His first CL match was the 0 - 1 win again Ajax the following month.
Vieira arrived June 2005.
Today's Tuttosport carries this :-
"Juve’s scouts find two gems at the Under-19 European Championship". Who exactly are these then?
Liam
Been on holiday for a week, but heard about Poulsen. Another uninspiring signing who adds nothing to the side. Xabi Alonso was the right sort of midfielder to be chasing, but we typically end up with Poulsen who will act as back-up to Zanetti.
The squad that has been constructed isn't really that much stronger then last season. Del Piero, Trezeguet, Nedved and Camoranesi are all a year older. Amauri, Mellberg and Poulsen add depth more than anything with the best new arrival being a player already owned in the shape of Giovinco. The title will remain a dream for atleast another season.
I wish Secco would get a lifetime ban from transfers. He really is useless.

Secco cant take all the blame, Poulsen was a Ranieri request....
gurjio
Ranieri is a yes man. Hes thrown his lot in with Secco completely, therefore it makes sense to say Poulsen was his choice. Deschamps openly disagreed with our summer plans last year and looked what happened to him.
I still think we will get someone on loan (Drenthe maybe) and one high profile purchase. As dumb as Secco and Blanc are, Cobollo Gigli is apparently aware of our preceived rubbishness on the mercato and may authorise one more move.
Hey ho, its worth speculating until Aug 31st.

I only know a few words of Italian but I'm pretty certain that is basically saying there was a press conference today with Mauro Camoranesi.
I'd take van Persie, despite his injury proneness. I wouldn't swap Giovinco for anything though. I also don't see him going anywhere.

Yeah I assumed the same Liam. Its just the ominous way it was put onto the juve site last night that piqued my curiosity.
Turns he just wanted to say hello, and that Poulsen isnt crap...honest.

Yeah Goal.com are talking bollocks. All respected media reports (if such a thing exists in footy gossip terms) say that Juve are gonna make a cash bid between 10-15m sterlings.

Goal.com, like Tribal Football takes all the crap in the Italian papers and prints it as news. It's basically an online tabloid.

In friendly news, Juventus 2: Brondby 1.
amauri with a nicely taken header from Molinaro cross
Iaquinta with a solo run into the box beating the keeper (very nice goal).
2nd half bought player changes and Brondby scored a penalty.
Chiellini, Sissoko, Buffon and Leggro got a run out so some 1st teamers are getting back into fitness.
Albin Ekdal is looking like quite the player if im honest hes too good to go on loan.
Juventus Vs Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Liam
Gurjio, where did you watch the match?
gurjio
didnt watch the full match dude, it was only shown on Juventus channel I think. Saw the match report when it went live on juventus.com and just saw a load of youtube vids of highlights on goals.
I did try and find a stream of juventus channel but its like trying to find rocking horse p00
My comment re: ekdal is from this and other matches. Every clip I see of him he has this lack of fear against running at people (a bit like Balotelli only from midfield).
Dylan1
Gurjio you are spot on Ekdal. He is our answer, what a find, like Pierino was.
I did not realise Amauri was that big.
Drughi
Hi bro, hope you are fine.
I saw last night game. Must admit that Ekdal is great.
It is another proof that Secco is moron. Ekdal will probably play alongside Sissoko, and Zanetti is still around. So we have Poulsen to be steward.
Also young Rossi was really good. It looks like he is potential to replace pavel next year.
I heard Brondby is shit but we will see. We still have problem at right back so it showed how incompetent coach and ds are. Now we will stick to Zebina or Grygera that are more central backs.
In fact Zebina isnt football player. He is idiot.
Dylan1
Fratello quite right, we have 3 extra muppets Poulsen, Almiron and Tiago total cost 42m. So much for careful administration and wise investments.
OriginalJuveboy
well make half of that back when we sell them
gurjio
So Trez was "angry" at coming on in the 2nd half against Brondby...
What bollocks, in all the years hes been at Juve he has never moaned about starting especially in friendlies. His agent has obviously convinced him to start kicking up a stink to get a move to Barca.
If media reports of £19m are true we should take it and buy Huntelaar & Zapata.
