Toni is in a league of his own. Owen was great at 19-21, maybe you think he is ideal.
Dylan

Toni is a goal getter, i am talking Ronaido, Zico, Bggio, Zidane, Figo, C. Ronaldo, Kaka', Pato, Messi. What Qwen has got to do with it he is not in 'that league'. I am talking players who make the real quality difference. Amauri ain't that good, is not worth 25m. even at today's iflated prices.

Jumping the gun a bit there, no?
nino

Dylan you imply any player worthy of Juventus should have been displaying brilliance at a young age. Well Owen was awesome at that age and now what is he? Toni is a goal getter, perhaps the best in the world right now. He breathes goals. Are you saying he is not a player who can 'make the difference'? Ask bayern fans if he makes the difference? You didn't mention what position so I can't read minds. And yes, we are jumping the gun with Pato.

And I agree that Amauri is not worth 25m, and I agree that we don't need him, but I think he is better than this thread gives him credit for.
Liam

Dylan's right regarding the type of player needed.  Amauri won't really add anything, nor would a guy like Toni (as good as he is).
Players like Van Der Vaart, Diego, Aguero and Giovinco are needed to add some real quality and creativity to the squad for next season.
nino

Sorry Dylan, it's obvious I missed something in your post being about 'that player' being an out and out and out goal scorer.
Drughi

Trezeguet would score 40 in German League...

He is much better player than Luca Toni...

About Amauri, hope he will accept Arsenal offer...we are too big club for him...
Duncan!

Trez better than Toni?   C'mon Drughi, put down the Juve flavored Kool-aid for a second.  Toni scores more in the last few years, has a WC winners medal, holds the ball up fantastically, and really is indispensible for club and country.   Trez is a great goal poacher, nothing more.

And yes I lnow Trez has a WC winners medal, but I am talking last 3-4 years
Dylan

3zeguet any day any place. Duncan Amelia has a W. Cup winners medal.

Owen was and is a 'trottolino' is not in the league of the Ronaldos Baggio and Zidane.

Drughi Arsenal aren't interested in Amauri, Zampacretini is trying to get more than he is asking already. Give Palladino a crack. Properly.
Dylan

On more thing on Amauri, if at all possible I would rather have Gilardino.
Luftwaffles

Great start

Legro scores in 2'.  Atalanta  0 - 1 Juve
Luftwaffles

Even better!  Il Capitano makes it two on 6'.

Atalanta 0 - 2 Juve
Dylan

That is more like it!
Luftwaffles

0-3 Il Capitano scores again!!!
Luftwaffles

Good assist from Trez and Ale makes it 237

Atalanta 0 - 4 Juve
rossi82

Back from a long trip to the States and missed all three games which we all won! Putting all discussions aside, Capitano rules. Many many people will need to eat their words...even my belief was shaken at points but 17 points already despite the fact that he did not start a number of games early in the season shows us what he is all about. Add Trez and others and I think we already have a great attacking force...I therefore agree that Amauri does not add much...if we are thinking about a striker we need to think of someone with Capitano's stype of play and we already have Palladino and Giovinco but they just need to play.

In sum, let us go for the VdV's and Diego's of the world...
gurjio

duncan Trez is the best finisher on the planet.  has been since he was 17-18. Toni started scoring at 28.

When you say Toni is better than Trez followed by

makes me wonder if you have eyes.
flotron

Quote:
Cobolli Gigli was speaking at an event showcasing Juventus's recent agreement with marketing company Sportfive, part of French conglomerate Lagardere, to sell the naming rights to the club's new stadium.

Juventus and Sportfive said the process of finding sponsors for the stadium, ready for the 2011/12 season, had just begun but ruled out companies in the car and sportswear market because of existing sponsorship ties to Fiat and Nike.

The deal will be the first of its kind in Italy, but several soccer stadiums in Germany and Britain are named after sponsors.

sigh

I really don't want to be going to the "Stadio Carrefour" or whatever it will be

Duncan!

Just saying in the last 3-4 years Toni has been better.

He scored 30+goals in Serie A, is leading the Bundesliga, scored 2 in the WC, etc....

Over the past 10 years, yes Trez has the better numbers, but the last few belong to Toni.
Drughi

Duncan amico, Totti is better than capitano    and Luca Toni is better than David...

And Doni is better than Gigi

Bro today Secco said that one of the main reasons for chasing Flamini is that he supported Juve as a kid

Man, I think Amauri was capo of Curva Scirea when he played with Chievo

Man we are circus...
Dylan

Fratello how about what I read today, Juventus are trying to bring back Zambrotta from Barca
Drughi

I just saw it...fratello it wouldnt be first time to spit on our history.

I hope he will end in Milan. And from footballing terms he will be never the same player after wasting two years in Barcelona.

Hope we will end with De Ceglie ( Evra is unrealistic target for us )...

Dont know about Flamini, I support every Frenchmen in precious shirt...but you said he is worse mercenary than Zingaro. So we dont need him, I suppose.

Ranieri has no balls to bring back Lanzafame and give him chance.

Bro, I just started to watch him closely in second half of Serie B, guy looks like big thing...he can assist, score, run like dog and he will die to win...stile Juve really.
Dylan

La Repubblica described Lanzafame as Juventus' jewel, he is in the U21, scored again last week.

We need to give youngsters a break. Do you think Marchisio and Paro would have done worse than Almiron and Tiago? At what cost?
gurjio

Zambro isnt coming back no way, hes not stupid.

De Ceglie and Molinaro for LB next season.

Hopefully the competition for a place will give Mole a kickstart.
Drughi

Gurjio, you are wrong.

Zambrotta is moron.

I think he would really be at risk if he tries to back to our club.

For me, he is bigger merda than Zlatan Zingaro. Zingaro is mercenary, Zambrotta is traitor.
gurjio

Sorry Drughi it was miscommunicated:

Zambro is a moron yes, I meant even a moron like him wouldnt be stupid enough to go back to Turin.

plus hes past it, we have better options.
nino

Drughi wrote:

So if Toni scores 31 in Italian league David must be able to score 70!!! Oh wait...

You said yourself Ale makes David better than he is. I like Trez I really do but let's not play silly buggers. Toni has been on superfire these past few years.
Liam

Firstly, great win at the weekend.  Nice to see our "finished" captain bag his 17th goal of the season, and the season's not even done yet.

Secondly, why the f**k did it take Ranieri until 75 minutes to bring on Palladino?  Iaquinta's injury is the perfect chance to give him a try in attack.  I'd have started him, and if not that brought him on at half time.  Instead he got 15 minutes of a match that might as well have been a pre-season friendly at that point.  His future lies away from Juventus, and its probably for the best.

Zambrotta?  No way.  I don't think he realises what Juventus gave him.
nino

I was a great fan of Zambrotta til he went away. No he is the past. I'd much rather see what De Ceglie has to offer.
Dylan

Totally Nino, Zambrotta is not needed  now and not wanted.
juveboy

Let him join Milan, that was his desired location  a few seasons ago untill a certain someone pulled the rug beneath him
gurjio

so its looking increasingly likely that Flamini is going to be a juventino next season, my only question is why?

Do we really need another DM?

Im bored at work, any other transfer gossip?
Dylan

Gurjio Secco, apparently, is going after Borriello.

Flamini's demands are high too.
gurjio

Borriello?

We would have to keep one of Iaquinta or Palla for that to make sense.

Presumably Amauri's demands are a little excessive now as well?  Or maybe Zamparini's playing games again.
nino

How about Deputy Carlo for no.12.
Myles

Got my refund for the Juve-Parma match ticket

They better not move the Juve-Catania game, i've already paid for flights that would only get me in Turin train station at 2:10pm, it'd be a rush if the games were moved to Saturday 3pm...and a disaster is the flight over was delayed! Keep it to Sunday
Dylan

Gurjio Zampacretini my be trying to get more cash for Amauri.

Nino Cudicini is a milanista, Secco needs his head examined.
Drughi

Yes bro, just wanted to write it...that guy had rossoneri in blood
(whole family).

I think we have bigger problems than Gigi reserve...

Milan will go for Zapata at 15 millions...we have Zebina and Birindelli...
Liam

Drughi/Dylan, are the latest charges brought against Moggi and Juventus anything to worry about, or will it just be a fine at the end as I expect?

Or maybe, just maybe they'll unveil the truth...
gurjio

I doubt it will be anything other than a fine for us.  They are either trying to scare Moggi back into the shadows as he has been a bit noisy these past weeks or they must have some fresh evidence on him (which I strongly doubt).

Its expressly stated in the charges that Juventus are part of it only for 2 reasons:

1) Conflict of interests from Moggis Juventus ties and with that of Messina.

2) We were legally named as his employers at that time.
Dylan

Liam Gurjio is correct we might get a fine and that's about it. Anything else we might read on the subject is nonsense.

Fratello I repeat Van der Vaart, Aguero and Lugano.

Rather than Amauri we could try Cavenaghi (26) currently in France, putting them in and at a third of the cost
Dylan

And I believe, with the deals agreed for the new Delle Alpi, Juventus are frightening again in Italy. So Falsopoli is back on the front pages. Everyone knows that we could have done Serie A. And with what team? What depth of squad? And, like it or not, having lost are main defender for the season.
gurjio

Absolutely, the Sportfive deal basically pays for the revamp, leaving our actual bank balance untouched.

Cavenaghi!!  Man I remember when we were this close to taking him from River, and he went to Russia!  He would have been only 2M then so even at a potential bargain we missed out yet again.

I pray everyday for Aguero but i dont think its gonna happen.

I read today that Lanzafame is looking for more assurances from Juve that he will get more playing time a la Giovinco or he may ask to be sold.

My brothers-in-law (support Man-U and Liverpoo) both winding me up this week, saying how theyre going to enjoy Juve die quickly in the Champions League.  I think they may get a shock, the one thing that Ranieri can do is beat the big teams.
Juvefans

Cavenaghi over Amauri any day
gurjio

Nedved close to an extension which is good.

How do you guys see his role for next season?  He was struggling with a game a week in my opinion and maybe a recurrung guest star role like Ryan Giggs would be more appropriate?
Dylan

I think so Gurjio he deserves his C. League wish. Contracts were extended to a lot 'worse' than Nedved.
Drughi

Dont know about Nedved, today some papers claimed he rejected proposed deal. Yes, he cant be regular in every game but his experience would be vital vs big teams...we cant find replacement for him.

I see someone said Seba will be sucessor...I dont think so nor Seba nor Palladino are that type of players.

Agree with Cavenaghi, he is more versatile than Amauri and overally better player...

Dont know we dont see able to get such good player as Aguero. And of course Atletico isnt so stupid to sell him.

I think we will get Flamini and Amauri and back our youth. For someting else Secco is too stupid.

Even I want to believe VdV will come to Juve, bro I think guy will end in Valencia or something like it...

And Milan is on Zapata trail...in old days Moggi would take him already in January last year and then lie about not agreeing anything...

Lanzafame will probably go to Genoa next year...

See you
Dylan

Guess what I read today the Gipsy  King Ibrahimovic wants Real Madrid. Most probably he has been a Real fan all his life.
flotron

Dylan wrote:

That would be classic Ibra

As much as inter deserve such a pezzo di merda i wouldnt mind getting him out of Italian football altogether

so yes ibra, please go to Real
Liam

Ibrahimovic would be suited to Real Madrid like he's suited to Inter.  Neither club has any class.

Secco has said Giovinco, Marchisio and De Ceglie will return which is good news.

Nedved's role should change in my opinion.  I no longer see him as a key player, which hurts to say because I've long been a massive fan of his, but we must look to the future.  I agree with Drughi that Giovinco and Palladino are different players, but I don't see any potential replacements being linked that have Nedved's characteristics.  Therefore I see him sharing playing time with Giovinco next season which I think would be a good thing.

Not seen Cavenaghi play in a full match since he was at River Plate, where he impressed me as a goalscorer.  From what I remember he has similar characteristics to Trezeguet, but offered more in all-round play.  I remember the first game I saw him play where he scored a really good goal that Trezeguet would never score.  As Amauri would likely be a bench player Cavenaghi probably would be a valid alternative now he finally appears to have settled in Europe.  He'd also be cheaper.
gurjio

Nedveds future role would be much more clear if Van der Vaart arrives in the summer as Dylan predicts.

Giovinco isnt a natural winger but hes much better out on the left than Palladino.  Seba reminds me of Messi a little, not quite a striker or a winger but lethal running inside from that side.

Palla is too lightweight and a little clueless on the wing.

I would also forget the Lahm rumours (unfortunately).  The most likely full back purchase will be younes Kaboul from spurs as they will accept Tiago as part exchange.

Also, correct me if im wrong, but we're still owed money for Blasi and Zalayeta from Napoli right?  Why are we not raiding their players?  Moggi would have stripped em of Hamsik in 2 seconds by now. (although not in a gay way though, we all know Moggis not into all that!)
Dylan

Gurjio Mopggi stripped Napoli when he was their General Manager.
Myles

We don't have to try to replace Nedved with exactly the same player, Seba can play on the wing even if it is in a different way, teams evolve.
Duncan!

I wanted Cavenaghi at Roma 3-4 years ago when he was at River.  Thought he made a bad choice to go to Russia, but it might not have been his call.   Always rated him highly
Juvefans

I dont know what planet c4 are on but they seem to think Stendardo is valued at £10m
Dylan

Flamini is AC Milan bound on a 4m per year 5 yeras deal. Juventus would not go over 3m. I belive Juventus did the right thing in the situation.
Drughi

Agree with you bro, but on the other hand it showed again Secco is amateur.

It is not problem about Flamini, who gives f**k for him, but it will be problem with some other valuable player.
Dylan

Agree fratello but I still think VdV is coming, that does no make Secco any better.
nino

Juvefans wrote:

I think that's something in the contract that Lazio put in. Obviously Juve would never pay that but I still don't like to see our youngsters linked in any swap for a squad player.
Liam

Lazio included an option to buy Stendardo for £10m when he joined on loan.  I do not believe Secco has any intention of paying that as Stendardo was only signed as cover with Andrade out injured and Criscito and Boumsong leaving.  I would be extremely surprised if Stendardo was a Juventus player next season.  Not even Secco's stupid enough to go swapping Lanzafame, Marchisio or Palladino for him (I hope )

He didnt play well after that.

damn that 1st half was a joy to watch. 2nd half noone could be arsed and complaceny sunk in but Lazio were never really going to get back in the game.
Myles

Del Piero makes it look easy.
Dylan

C. League achieved Buffon can rest until Euro 08. The Gobbini were bound to relax in the second half. That will do for this season.

Enjoyed the Romolini beating the crap out of our cousins the Mulita, to see Torino relegated would be a pleasure. Sad I know.

Drughi how about this 'Toro cucu' in Serie B ci vai tu'.  Do you remember Cairo's t-shirt about the Delle Alpi?

Who gives f**k about Mulita...Serie B is natural hole for rats. About Cairo...he is moron...and now Pergocrema and Novara are their level...

On the other side, Seba again looked like wizard, magic ball through defence for Empoli winning goal.

Our new leader, for sure.

Bro, who will be best striker David or Ale?

Maybe they can share prize and rest out of France and Italy squad...bad for them, good for Juve.
Dylan

I think Pierino will do it and play for Italy in Euro 08. Unless Ranieri gives Palladino e proper run.

Giovinco was constant threat today never mind Amauri. If Sensi is prepared to let go of Aquilani for Iaquinta Secco should go for the deal. No Mancini, age and inconsistancy.

For me the third star is the only option after the next Scudetto is won.  I'd be disgusted if it wasn't put on.

The first half at the weekend was fantastic with some great football.  Camoranesi in particular stood out.  The second half was not so good as the players relaxed, but the brilliant first half more than made up for it.  Del Piero and Trezeguet have almost 40 goals between them now.  Still the best strike force in Italy.

Again, why was Palladino not given a run out?
Drughi

I think Zingaro and Cruz are better...  with two penalties in every game they cant be top goalscorers.

It was easy vs Lazio...still I dont want to celebrate, we are not Mensa FC to celebrate being third.

Simply some other standards...
Luftwaffles

Well, now that Champions League qualification has been achieved, and I'm assuming that we will do better than we did 4 years ago when we were last in this postion - struggling against Djurgardens to progress to the group stage - the board should conclude quickly  the three signings needed to take us forward next season. Not included are Mellberg and Giovinco who are promised or already signed.

Assuming Tiago and Marchionni are leaving and that Almiron may not come back there is scope for Ranieri to be spending around €40m.

If Iaquinta is not part of the grand design for 08/09, perhaps to be offset in a transfer swap, then it's possible 4 may arrive.

Key to everything is strengthening the defence. If Georgio is happier in the middle than playing full back the biggest spend should go towards acquiring a world class left back. It should be the 1st objective in the market.

In attack lets fix the Amauri deal, exchange Iaquinta for Mancini, Palladino* and cash for Hamsik and start to look forward to a season of unabated success.

* Much as i think that Palla is going to be a very good player in the future, events over the last 2 months have led me to believe that he has no future at the club. Sadly.
Dylan

Fratello the best buy this season was Alex Del Piero. He is gone back 10 years. Perhaps Agricola had something to do with it.

I tell you Drughi Aguero may want to play in C. League and Juventus have dealt with Atletico Madrid before as for Vieri. I am glad we did not get Flamini we already have Sissoko in that role. We need a playmaker.
Dylan

More good news for Juventus Liverpool are after Mancini.
gurjio

Nike's initial concepts for next season's away kit.  Not bad but they need to burn the flippin red one!
Juvefans

I think that signing Mancini in exchange for Iaquinta would be an excellent deal especially if we do end up signing Amauri
Luftwaffles

More good news for Juventus, Amauri wants to wear the Milan shirt........
Dylan

Giovinco, De Ceglie, Lanzafame, Criscito and Marchisio are returning to stay. Ranieri says in today's interview that Juventus are counting on these youngsters for the future from next season.
About Giovinco though he is small he is strong,

Good news about Amauri Luft, things are looking up, after all AC Milan signed Flamini.
Dylan

Amauri demands 3.75m per season and Juventus will not goo over 3m, with a bit of luck he will go somewhere else.

Secco is trying to get Sagnol, remember him?, from Bayern on a free. What else?  Another young promise!
rossi82

If you ask me, our first and most critical transfer target, apart from a replacement for Nedved, will be a solid goalkeeper. We can then worry about all of the other positions, We can not go to the Cl with Belardi. He is ecent but at best a third goal keeper in a team like Juve
rossi82

Or, in the nicest possible way, a reason to mock Juve when they disappear after the group stage?

Out of all four, I probably prefer the gold top. The black one is too similar to the home shirt and I wouldn't classify red as a Juve colour.
