Well, Moggi appeal was rejected...despite I think now that most of things he said were true.

Simply look at last night, we were robbed by clear penalty, and Roma was also punished in several situations of Lazio game...

Cant see farsopoli end...and result will be no Italian team in Champions League ( I dont see Roma beating United ) and Azzurri will probably fail in EURO...

But again, I dont care...will go to see our players, whistle to morons in the board and 'si' coach...

Last night we were awful...next is Mensa FC...they are shit but will play 14  vs 11...only that funny crowd could turn against their shitty team if we take lead...

Inter has no fans at all...it is our biggest advantage even we are banned to travel to Meazza. Some will come
Dylan

Pitiful performance Fratello, no ideas, no game plan, no system like 'oratorio' team. I know we haven't got Platini, Zidane, Baggio but if we did Ranieri would most probably bench them.

Lanzafame gets Under 21 call up with Giovinco and Marchisio.

Amauri? No please, no!
Liam

Dylan wrote:

Very true.  I get the impression that if given the choice of signing Baggio or Sissoko (Hypothetically of course) he'd take Sissoko.
rossi82

I missed the game....and I am so glad I did!!

We all have to accept that the rest of the season will be something like this - one step forward, one step backwards and so on until we finsh third or fourth which, frankly, is not bad. However, given that none of the other teams has been impressive it is in our DNA to want to win  a scudetto.

Inter is next...they are way better on paper but who knows....we play best when our back is against the wall.....
Dylan

Liam you are 100% on Ranieri, for certain Secco would!

Rossi we just may just surprise the Interdetti.
Jimmilson

Next season, how do you think Giovinco will be accommodated in the team? He's a phenomenal little player and could really inject some creativity.

I see the inevitable Lippi links are resurfacing. How realistic do you think it is that he will be on the Juve bench next season?
Myles

Jimmilson wrote:

I reckon he'll play on the right wing as he did at the end of our Serie B season, it seems to be his best position. Camoranesi will probably be injured alot, or maybe Camoranesi could play in the center like against Roma, it worked in that game.

Jimmilson wrote:

Who knows! Hopefully he is.
80-90% of chances on goal can come from free-kicks or corners, at the moment we don't make any use of this fact under Raneiri, it is a waste. Under Lippi we had alot of different 'plays' for our indirect free-kicks and even some corners, but we never did the same move in two consecetive games, but would maybe use the same move a few weeks later. In Italy and in Europe it caught alot of teams by suprise as our free-kick plays were unpredictable. These were all practised in closed training sessions under Lippi. Obviously Ranieri doesn't practise any 'plays' on the training ground because he or his staff don't have Lippi's secret book. Ranieri does the bare minimum to pick up his pay check at the end of the week, any one of us could put the players in their correct positions, it's not rocket-science. Lippi went the extra mile as one would expect from an employee well paid (by the supporters buying merchandise, tickets and television rights).
Dylan

Forget Lippi! The club new administration have moved on, the Triade days are finished. For good! Ranieri will be there next season too, then, perhaps, with C. League money, more sponsors and youngsters having made the grade top 'guns' will be coming to Juventus again in total around 5 years from relegation. As  Blanc made clear at the beginning of his mandate. And with the purchase of the Delle Alpi, if trhere will be, Ranieri's replacement will have to be a big name.
Liam

I think Giovinco could replace Nedved in the team next season on the left wing.  When I've seen him play for Empoli he's been used there most of the time.

Ranieri will still be here next season if Secco's still here, which he will be.  The reality is that the present Juventus is willing to accept 3rd place, and if that's achieved there'll be no changes at the top.
Duncan!

Eve if Juve beat Inter, Roma would probably screw it up and tie Empoli

But, a hat trick for Trez tomorrow?
zeds

A question for Juventinos...

I've been reading this thread all season and I just don't get the pessimism. What were you guys realistically expecting?
You've returned after a year out, with virtually the same squad (aged by a year), spent neglible money in the summer on new recruits and yet lie 3rd. I'd say Ranieri, given the resources has done a pretty good job.

Was a CL finish seriously not the best one could've hoped  for? Even Buffon was considering leaving and said while he'd suffer out a season in Serie B, he couldn't bear the thought of not being competitive in Serie A.

Plus, last summer on this board there was loads of talk about big names coming in...but without European football you couldn't realistically expect to compete in the transfer market.

Good luck today.
Dylan

Giovinco stiffs the Romolini with a goal and Perrotta sent off for kicking  Piccolo. An obvious conspiracy ochestrated by...ah...Secco?
Myles

Liam you're right, Giovinco played on the left at the end of Serie B, not on the right as i said earlier.

Zeds, we're in third with the same players that played in Serie B, so we're pissed off because if the administration had done their job right and got decent players we'd be higher. True we didn't have much bargaining power since we weren't in Europe but we could've signed better players than we did. Besides players these days don't care about trophies so much as the money they are offered. I prefer give the money to better players than to shareholders. Since when is a club a company!
Myles

Dylan wrote:

Liam

I'd agree with Myles response to Zeds.  In August we were hoping for a Champions League place, but were worried that wouldn't happen.  The opening performances suggested it'd be pretty tough to achieve a CL place, but the team got better and has long looked comfortable in 3rd place.

The disappointing thing is that this team is made up almost entirely of players who played in Serie B.  Its key men are Buffon, Legrottaglie, Chiellini, Zanetti, Camoranesi (When he's fit), Del Piero and Trezeguet.  All of those played in Serie B.  In fact Legrottaglie wasn't even a key player in Serie B!

Considering a good amount of money was invested on Andrade, Almiron, Tiago, Sissoko and Iaquinta (The one success of the big summer purchases), the fact that none of those are key players (3 have barely played, 4 if you count January signing Sissoko) says that the money was badly invested, and with a more intelligent transfer campaign more could have been achieved.

I never thought we'd win the Scudetto, but I feel 2nd place could have been realistic.  With the squad he has I feel Ranieri has generally done well, but as I hinted earlier, I'm not sure I like the direction I feel he wants the team to go in.  I get the impression he was a key protagonist in the signing of Sissoko, a player the team didn't need.  Its obvious more creativity in midfield is needed, but I don't think Ranieri sees it that way.  I worry about the summer, especially if the squad is built in "Ranieri's model".
Myles

Buffon, Camo and Iaquinta in the Italian squad against Spain. No Alex.
zeds

Thanks for the replies fellas.  I understand your views a little better though am not in total agreement.

whats with the long ball crap?

Could not agree more - Dominated them in their back yard. Walked all over them and it was Alex who inspired us once again.

Drughi

Man,man, man...MENSA FC are just bad.

And now I hate Secco and Ranieri even more...

Our champions with VdV and Marchisio, Paro, De Ceglie would walk to title...

Camoranesi was fantastic...

About capitano...he is class...made them laughing stock...

Feel sorry for him as he just didnt score. But still it isnt important. Next week he will overcome our Gai, most matches in precious shirt...

Two biggest players in Juventus history...

I cant speak about Mensa FC...I cant laugh at them...they are sad.

Very true Rossi!!!  Took me back seeing us defend like that!

Del Piero was amazing altho could have scored one to stop me having a heart attack.

Mancini needed to put 4 strikers on (one after 56minutes).  Fcukin amateur.
Liam

f**king awesome!

Del Piero made Materazzi look like the idiot he is.  He showed that Ibrahimovic is nothing near the player he is.  He was incredible, with his link-up with Trezeguet proving decisive.  Just a shame his shooting wasn't quite as good as usual.  But we won, so I don't care!

Buffon and the defence were superb, and the whole team fought and gave everything.  This one result has made the whole season for me.  Brilliant.

rossi82

And Sissoko?????????????
rossi82

Alex made total laughing stock out of Matrix..the poor sod had to put an oscar winning performance to claim that Capitano fouled him when he had actually circled him one more time!!

By the way, did Ibra play today?!!!!
Luftwaffles

It's really important now that we start a winning run now. Let's see a convincing win against Parma next Sunday and take some of the CL qualification pressure off our collective shoulders.

Del Piero was awesome tonight.
Liam

Donadoni doesn't call up Del Piero.  Idiot.

Sissoko is getting better.  He can actually pass more than 10 yards now.

Rossi, the saddest thing about Zidane's exit in the World Cup final is that he didn't do more.
nino

Ole!! What a victory. Now that is what I like to see.
zico

my rubentus friends, pardon my ignorance, but what does mensa fc in referal to inter merda mean???
Duncan!

Grazie Juve!

Man, ADP made Matrix his b!tch all night.  Can;t believe Donadoni named Matrix after that shite performance.   Why not Chiellini instead?  He actually looks like a real defender.

I disagree about Nedved againn however.  Thought he was a liability out there and dived quite a bit.   Looked a bit old.  Lots of running for nothing.

Anyways, thanks for the help
Duncan!

Oh yeah, Giovinco is DAMN good

Well done guys. From what Ive heard you played well and I can see why you're so happy at beating your rivals and the best team in Italy away from home...

Little lucky at times with Inter hitting the post and Camo's offside goal..
Dylan

Priceless!!! Pierino sat Materazzi on the pitch.

Yes fratello I hope Juventus have learned a lesson with the youngsters Lanzafame is in Under21 squad.

I told you we we'll finish second behind Roma.

Legrottaglie on Camoranesi' offside "About time somenthing went our way after all the bed decisions we have had"

Rossi you are right we will give Giovinco plus money to Parma for Cigarini.

Funny that...so the four or five clear chances do not count...controlling midfield does not count....

Lsiten, for Juve to be awarded a penalty this season will take a scenario where a defender literally kills one of our players in the box and declares that he did not do it in self defence....We had games this season when the likes of Napoli were given comical penalties (check out utube) or we were not awarded not one, not two but actally three penalties in one game (reggina). The win agaisnt Inter ws fair and square if you are an objective spectator or try to be one. If you think Inter deserved a point then you may have watched the first half only....I wil not say more but in this particular occasion the result does not reflect the run of play. A more reasonable result would have bewen 4/1 or at best 4/2..
Bobo32

"From what Ive heard"
I didnt watch the game. If you say Juve controlled the game I believe you. Inter are a shadow of their 2007 self at the moment.

Also, penalties have nothing to do with it, right? The goal was offside..
And since when does an incorrect decision ever make a game fairer? It might make it more equal but as far as Im aware Juve weren't done any injustices in the match for which they might be compensated with a dodgy goal.
Inter havent had an amazing time from referees recently with some harsh red cards. Every team is bitching about the refereeing this season. No biggie.
Dylan

How many inexistent penalties were Inter awarded to open the score in games this season? Such is life you get good and bad decisions but Juventus, it appears to many and neutral at that, are still 'paying' for the past administration.

Juventus second half performance was outstanding last night, that does not make the offside decision a correct one. But it is like the old adage goes 'People who live in glass houses.....'  so Moratti, Mancini and the rest of Mensa FC  can go and listes to some  more phone calls.
Giancarlo

All I have to say is, you are really really clueless if oyu think DP should be taken to Euro 2008, a few good performances in Serie A doesn't warrant a place.  This has been done before and he's failed to deliver.
Drughi

Look you pathetic shit...stand still when you talk about HIM...you are not worth saying anything about legend...

Moron...

Look bro, about Mensa FC...they are sad, nothing else, just group of poor people that are united only in full pockets...

They were given 10 funny penalties, whole Italy laugh at them and now few idiots will come here and talk about offside.

I wont celebrate win...as they are mice pretending to be rats...

They are in hole, just where they belong.
Liam

Typical of Mancini to highlight the offside goal.  Another 10 of those and the season might begin to look slightly even.
Bobo32

On a serious note, who do you plan on taking other than Luca Toni?

No idea, all I know is DP has had his chances and blown them.  Only people who want him there are the Juventini who are so blinded by their love for him they obviously missed all the times he sucked.

Totti?! he had ten time more chances than ADP but please remind me when he did not suck or actually cost us qualification becasue of how stupid he acted and the red cards he got. ADP did not get his full chance at the national level and when he did he often delivered or when he did not he can not be possibly be the only one to blame when the emtire national team was not all that impressive until 2006. Also, assuming he was bad so we never play him now becasue he will not do well despite his current form..what kind or argument is that,...anyway, let Italy go with Luca Toni and a couple of muppets, maybe Gilardino, for all I care...I frankly think Donadoni was way off the mark for not inviting him to the game nor calling him to explain why!!
Bobo32

totti>adp
Giancarlo

Euro 2000, nuff said.
Liam

World Cup 2006 Semi-final and Final shoot-out, nuff said.
Duncan!

Boys Boys Boys.  This is re-igniting a very old argument.   Obviously, being Romanisti, I think Totti is the better player.

But, I do respect ADP, but wouldn;t take him to the EURO's.  For me there are a bunch of players I wouldn't take.  Time to start getting some new players in the ranks for 2010 WC.
Giancarlo

Yeah, when my friends say Serie A is a league of Has-beens and then we take ADP to a major tournament, doesn't do many favours.

They can say what they like Giancarlo, when we bring home things like the World Cup.

I think supporting Mensa FC has something with brain damage, but still some people dont have shame at all...

NON VINCETE MAI
Juvefans

ADP was magnificent, it's Italy's loss if they dont call him up. He probably shouldn't start in the Euros but he's still a class act
Giancarlo

Yeah shouldn't start I think thats reasonable, maybe bring him on when we get a free kick ¬_¬
Dylan

Yes Giancarlo as it so happens we only went and won the W. Cup again with Pierino but I am sure the English Priemiership will shine at Euro Championship, though England, again, failed to qualify.

May be the Italians ought to be grateful to their 'foreign 'coaches'.

Beckham couldn't but take free kicks all of his career and sometimes a penalty, to go past a player he had to take the bus.
Giancarlo

Why would I give two figs about the premiership or England?  I follow neither.

Thing is, if Don doesn't take DP and we fail then it will all be "oh Italy needed DP blah blah" yet if we go all the way (which of course I hope we do) without him then it's point proved in my opinion.

PS: I bought DP on on master league but thats as far as Id go.
Dels

There was no doubt in my mind that we would beat Inter on Saturday, I think that there is a lack of quality in Serie a at the moment, just my opinion mind, but can be backed by Inter being given a footballing lesson by the fourth best team in England, watching those two legs I kept thinking that Inter bring nothing to football, if ever a team flattered to decieve. They still can't live with Juve no matter how weakend we are. But soon we'll be back to our full strength. Sadly I didn't see the match but i'll try to catch the highlights in the wee small hours.
Tuten K

They were a man down for the majority of the two leg's it was hardly a contest

Are you forgetting the goal he scored against Germany to seal the victory putting us into the final.

There's talk of a contract extension for Pavel Nedved.  I'd be interested in other peoples thoughts about that as I no longer see him as an important player.  He's shown he can make a contribution at times, but for next season I'd be looking at replacing him in the starting line-up, possibly with Giovinco.  I'm not sure he'd settle for a place on the bench though.
Myles

Just recovered from celebrating kicking the black and blue

Off to Torino on Saturday for the Parma game on Sunday, i hope they stockpile the Nastro!

Yeah Giovinco is the way forward but Pavel wants one more crack at the CL.

plus his experience will be invaluable in guiding whoever plays down the left.
Duncan!

An aging and increasingly grumpier Nedved would not be good for Juve next year.

There fore you should sign him
gurjio

I disagree Duncan, what hes lost in quality over a season, he still posesses ability over one night Euro games.

His experience in Europe will be invaluable in helping, Giovinco, Molinaro, Nocerino etc to step up.
Drughi

Duncan I understand, he raped Roma so many times playing for Lazio...

Man, but he is hell of the player and real warrior...it's not his fault you supporting wrong club

Just kidding  but still you cant judge player like it...

Let's say Mensa FC is shitty club but I still like Materazzi and Mancini and Mihajlovic as you cant deny they are smart people
nino

Apparently we're looking at Mladen Petric from Dortmund as a possible replacement. I don't know what he is like.
gurjio

Nino, he is a very high scoring midfielder (at least in that league).  Management see him as a Nedved replacement.

Nice that we go from VdV to this.
gurjio

Camoranesi renwing for a year is good news, although I didnt realise he was close to the end of this contract.

It has been relatively painless this time round to renew our big player's contracts so hopefully they have been given assurances that good players will arrive in the summer.

Does anyone know what our actual transfer budget is for the summer?
Luftwaffles

The Nedved contract extension possibility is welcome. Nevertheless, We must invest (in both senses of the word) in new blood. The young Juventus players must be able to see opportunities to play in the first 17 squad next season.

The Giovinco affair will be resolved -once and for all time next month - and I think it is fair to say that the overwhelming majority of Juventus supporters would like to see him wearing the black and white next season. I do too. Let's hope that those who make the decisions see it the same way.

Tantalisingly, we are still some twelve points away from securing a CL slot. This will still be an inhibitor to attracting the quality player(s) who measure their ambitions by playing in Europe-wide football. A convincing win against Parma is now a 'must do' to keep momentum moving.   Come mid-April the first signs of reaching a deal with agents and players will probably appear as plans for strengthening the playing staff for 2008/2009 take account of the 50+ matches we will play next season.

Btw, any progress on Sucko moving to Genoa?
JuventinoNYC

Pavel Nedved should be allowed to play until he decides he wants to retire.  IF Pavel wants a contract for 5 years, we should give it to him.

And I'd love to see Pavel get to a CL final next season...  I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but since our CL defeat to Milan in Manchester I can't help but be impatient to watch Nedved break some legs for that trophy.

Once Pavel retires, I can't help but imagine he'd be a fantastic coach.  Normally I don't like foreign coaches, but he'd be a great except for Juve (much like DD).

...anyone else surprised that Pavel's nose was bleeding red blood?  I could have sworn his blood is black'n'white.
Duncan!

Yeah, but he is winding down and will the younger players get a game because I don;t think he would quitely sit on the bench.

And yeah, he did give Roma a hell of a time
Dylan

Giovinco will be back to play.

I am positive we will get Vand Der Vaart.
JuventinoNYC

Is there any way we could get grosso for cheap?  I'd like to see him in black'n'white, and I hear he's wasting his time at Lyon.
Juvefans

I hear Grosso is crap. One decent world cup and that was it
Drughi

Seba and Marchisio must play...also some decent coach would finally find place for Palladino...

No Grosso please...why we dont try with De Ceglie...it looks like moron opted Modesto as left back...

Bro, hope to see VdV in precious shirt...but still do you see Secco making it?

Today reports of scambio Mancini - Iaquinta showed in papers. Dont like it, Iaquinta would stay instead of trying to get Amauri or similar low club player.

Hope we agree that David is still first choice?

Or we have to insist for Gila gol

I would also welcome Flamini...it seems he is good player. But knowing ability of our ds we will get Gilberto Silva

Someone remebering Cleberson?

It looks like Brasil won WC 2002 with eight players...

Here is my XI

Buffon
Grygera, Chiellini, Nico L., De Ceglie
Camoranesi, Marchisio, Nocerino, VdV
Seba ( capitano), Trezeguet

with Palladino, Iaquinta, Marco Marchionni etc.

Lippi  would make 10 points advantage over Milan next season with this team...or some other coach like DD or Gentile.

Next season with Ranieri and Secco transfer ability we will be solid 4th and Montezemolo and Gigli will claim it is good result...

Still cant understand why f**king amateurs got chance to be in such big club...
Dylan

3zeguet is untouchable!

Iaquinta must stay and no Brazilian.

De Ceglie, Giovincio, Marchisio and Lanzafame will be back for next season. Some foreign clubs are after Giovinco and Marchisio already. I think Juventus have learned a few lessons from Farsopoli, one of them 'breed' youngsters and keep them. They have signed another Swedish baby sensation.

Fratello today I see that Nedved will stay another year at least.

Palladino wil come good, Platini did not 'explode' until 27.
Dylan

And all we neeed with the Dutchman are Lugano and Aguero
Luftwaffles

Worrying speculation is Marchisio to Parma (on loan) and scambio re Cigarini.

As I see it 3zeguet is still number one striker and Giovinco an absolute must to return to us in the Summer.

The 1st Xi should look like this:-

.............................. Buffon..........................
..Grygera..Mellberg..Andrade..Chiellini..
..Camoranesi..Marchisio..Cigarini...............
.....................................Nedved/V.d.V........
............Giovinco.................Trezeguet.........
flotron

no one sees a Criscito come-back?
Liam

I'm not quite sure where Criscito would fit in.  Legrottaglie and Chiellini will still be around, Mellberg's already signed and Andrade should be available.  Another centre-back might well be a target as well with Diego Lugano being mentioned.  Criscito will most likely be seen as being at the back of that queue and will end up out on loan again.  Might be for the best though.
