Goalazzo theme tune...Anyone know if the original channel 4 theme tune "Goalazzo" is available to buy/download anywhere as I cannot find it?.Cheers |

Try searching for 'Golaccio' rather than Goalazzo, as this is the proper Italian term. Not sure where or if you can download it though, it's probably on youtube or something so you can listen to it over and over and over and over and over.......... |

Golaccio is actually a word invented by the Brazilian player José Altafini
James Richardson was talking about it on the Football Weekly podcast recently... He wasn't even sure it was Golaccio being said, even though he had been convinced previously. I must see if i can hear what he said about it again. |

Yeah I heard his podcast too. Ive seen it on you tube, just it would be nice if I could get it on cd or onto my ipod somehow/somewhere.

The titles do indeed, say, "golaccio", but that was grafted on later by clueless folk. Golaccio, if it means anything, means "rubbish goal". According to JR, who spoke to the chap who actually recorded the shout, the phrase was actually "Gol Lazio". The irony of this is obviously that JR and all smug Italian followers in the 90s (myself included) scoffed when those not in the know suggested it was "gol Lazio".
Good podcasts aren't they? Apart from Sean Ingle who's a bit rubbish. |

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when I heard him say that.
He does host a very good podcast and it is quite a shame that is currently the only show he is presenting. |

Yes, it's a crazy world. JR is an excellent, funny and likeable presenter who gets the tone exactly right and in a world packed full of John Inverdales, Gabby Logans, Richard Keys and Ray effing w-stain Stubbs, Richardson is given precisely nothing. Peter Brackley was a very good commentator too and is probably now consigned to minor league kabadi, while I sit there being terrorised in my own front room by morons such as Motson and Tyldsley. Where is the justice? |
