Great, good to see it moving out of its parets' basement and making something of itself. Does this mean it'll be growing and getting stuff like RSS feeds and such?

Maybe a link to this forum since there's no need to link to C4 forums?

Hopefully it'll prove to be a good move.

Edit: Like nino, I'd like there to be a link to this forum on the new website.  No idea if that's possible though.

What I would like is for CI to have some sort of icon in the address bar, just like Channel 4 has a '4' and Facebook has an 'F' so I can add it to my Google Chrome bookmarks bar.

It's a small, petty request, but I know what I like and I like what I know.

The site could do with a 'proper' blog where people can respond directly rather than by email.

The layout has always been great, very easy to use, but with a change of URL why not a change of design ?

Congrats to the FI team though, it's overdue

Off work this week so no need to get up early, as for staying up late every other week i have no excuse.

I can see how you don't care as it's obvious that there are very few, if any, Inter supporters on the FI team, but i suppose at least they don't pretend otherwise. As for Susy, she's stated that she's a Milanista so she's hiding nothing in fairness, though i don't expect Inter supporters to like her anti-Inter blogs, but i quite enjoy them!

Now it doesn't need the superfluous header for Channel 4 it means more screen space for actual content, which is nice.

As for additions, I'm with you Mezz, where's the favicon?

I like the way it loads much faster, which is probably down to either the website being hosted on a faster server or the C4 ads being removed, or both.

Speed was the main issue i had with the site and that's been resolved now so nice one!

This is a very good idea. Myles might have to lose complete autonomy of it but if he can maintain significant sway and it increases traffic several fold then it can only be a good move for the forum, right?

I know how hard Myles has worked at getting more new members and this seems to be an excellent opportunity to gain a lot of new users and add some vibrancy to the forum.

Hopefully there's not too much of a change in the layout because it's quite nice. Just an evolution and a bit more aesthetically pleasing.

Looks like C4 are closing down their entire sports department. OK granted there's not much on nowadays, but from the channel that brought us Football Italia, NFL, Tour de France and some great Test cricket coverage, it's sad so see.

And the odd bit off NBA. Yes it is pretty sad. Oh well, as long as they have enough room for some BB talk show I suppose.

All decisions to do with the forum are discussed and voted on by the admin team, i just post those decisions, but the other 3 admins are as equally to be credited with the running of the forum, or discredited where applicable

Welcome.  This is an independent forum that was set up by myles when the old C4 one became too draconian.

You'll soon notice how different this is to the old C4 one and a link between this and the new Football Italia is being worked on.

Signed up a week or so ago.

I was most likely going to get ESPN anyway, but when I seen that they had Serie A coverage that sealed the deal.

Only seen the Super Coppa so far, but the coverage was good.

I was referring to the fantasy football English Premier League rather than the Serie A version which Myles does.

I've set up an EPL version for us the last few seasons, but hardly anyone joined last season and those who did sign up weren't really that arsed about it after the first month anyway so I can't be bothered doing another one.

I wondered what you were on about Myles, but I've checked the site via Internet Explorer and now realise that there's a favicon there.

However, the favicon doesn't show on Google Chrome. Any chance of the FI team looking beyond the realm of Bill Gates and giving us a favicon we can all use?

Works fine on Firefox. Bit of a disappointing one though. Could have done without a white square for a background.

What's a favicon? Lol I have no idea because it's just the same website on my firefox....

It's the little graphic icon (if made available by the site) that sits at the beginning of the address bar and if you have a bunch of bookmarks, next to them.

is it just me or has the new site been down for a good 2 or 3 days now..

I have the address correct and i even went back to the c4 site to make sure, but I havent been able to get on for a few days well...

I took the white background off the favicon for the forum, still needs a bit of fine tuning around the edges so i'll do that next week.

The forum favicon is of course plagiarised from the banner which was made by your good self  

It works for Google Chrome as well. I've only installed Chrome so only just noticed that the navigation bar at the bottom of the threads isn't sitting correctly, if anyone using Chrome knows of any other irregularities on the forum let me know.

I've been using Chrome for at least 6 months now, and my favicon has always had a white background.

Nothing else seems amiss though.

You could try clearing your browsers cache, though favicon is a special case and can stick like glue in some browsers surviving cache clears.

Note: clearing cache will also delete all the images that your browser has saved for other websites as well.

Anyway, if anyone wants to clear their cache this is how to clear cache.

Actually, alternatively you can just press Ctrl + F5 for most browsers.

Yes, the first method will clear all the web cache on any browser, whereas the ctrl-F5 method will clear the cache for just the current webpage.

Ah i see!

Thanks for clearing that up.

Edit: As the favicon is in the header of every page on the forum, Ctrl + F5 on any page would clear the cached favicon, however as i've stated, the favicon is noted for surviving cache clears.
