Just come back from the Forest v Leicester City League Cup match. Very strange. The first half belonged to Forest who for a change passed the ball immaculately and effectively played our rivals off the pitch. 1-0 up at half time with the Leicester fans singing

Quote:
you're not famous anymore

and the Forest fans returning the compliment

Quote:
1-0 to the famous team
.

Local derbies don't you just love them. As the teams went down the tunnel 6 or 7 Leicester players re emerged as if the team talk was going to be held on the pitch. The annoucement was made 3 mins before the restart that the 2nd half was to be delayed by 15 mins. 10 mins later another announcement that a further 10 min delay was to be excpected. Then Colin Calderwood came onto the pitch and announced that the match was to be abandoned. Serious illness to a Leicester player who was whipped off to hospital. A respectful applause from the bemused crowd. As the stadium emptied the Forest fans taunted the City fans with one final

Quote:
same old Leicester . . . always cheating
.

I hope the Leicester lad Clive Clarke makes a full recovery, the match is rescheduled and Forest progress as they duly should.

Charlton v Stockport

We did our best to throw it away, defended atrociously in the second half but thankfully got a couple of late 'uns.

Next up won't be Palace away as orange twat Jordan is a greedy bastard and wants £30 a ticket for that slum in a second division game. No way I'm giving that turd or the scum any of my hard earned cash.

Went to Benfica v Naval on Saturday night - good game, cracking ground, Rui Costa magical, but absolute twat fans. You never hear about Portuguese football hooligans, but the Diablos are scum. Good to see the police wading in and smacking the ultras with truncheons, though!

Went up to Coventry to see us draw 1-1 yesterday, could/should have won but I'll take a point away. Not nice to see Dowie getting stick though.

The Ricoh's a nice place to watch football but is another soulless Lego ground with stand names like THE JEWSON END and THE TESCO STAND. Prefer Highfield Road.

Off to Wolves away tomorrow, reckon 1-1. Will put some money on Charlton/Draw and Wolves/Draw, good odds at 14/1 each.

I'm at Southampton for Uni so having Charlton down here on Saturday was a nice treat, one of the best away games I've been to that. Had a couple of mates down, had some good banter at the ground, last minute winner then I got chucked out after charging down the front. Got back in though.

Could have gone either way, we looked like we'd settled for the draw but then hit them on the break very late on. Hopefully we can build on that at Bristol City tomorrow, want to go over there for that but there's no trains after the game and I have work on Wednesday morning. Next match I get to will be Cardiff or Sheff Utd at home.

Cheltenham Town vs Brighton in the FA Cup tomorrow - Cheltenham is my old home town and I followed them back in the old Southern Premier League.

Judging by this seasons results, the standard hasn't improved much since those days!

I watched the Hearts/Aberdeen match today. It was weird watching Aberdeen play in yellow & black. Entertaining game though.

Hmm. Original plan for next week was going to be Milan-Juve and Atalanta-Napoli.

70'000 tickets sold for Milan though while I'm yet to sort mine (waiting to hear back from a seasonticket holder), and Atalanta's Curva Nord shut meaning other areas of the ground will be busier than usual.

However, Samp-Reggina on the Saturday then Parma-Empoli or Torino-Genoa look do-able on the Sunday, or possibly still Atalanta. Should do the San Siro tour on the Monday too, missed out on that last time.

Edit: Yay, just heard I can borrow someone's Milan season ticket. In the 3rd tier but I'll just be happy to be there.

I'll be watching Hearts play Smeltic on saturday. Hoping against hope that the Hertz can do something. But I doubt it.

Ended up at Milan-Juve and Parma-Empoli at the weekend, pretty strange atmosphere at both. Milan for their protests, and Parma for their gemelaggio with Empoli. All good fun though, hopefully Sicily next up.

Before that though will be a good few Charlton games, starting with Ipswich home and WBA away the following weekend.

Villa v Reading on Saturday - only my 3rd game of the season.
A 3-0 home win would be nice.

Osprey v Gloucester on Saturday evening.

A 3-0 away win would be nice, if a little boring!

I went to Watford yesterday, my first game since Leicester away at the end of last month.

2 points lost, but there was other fun to be had with some old and funny chants being brought out (largely aimed at Simon Jordan).

Next up will be Scunthorpe in 2 weeks up among those dark, satanic mills, then the small matter of Palace 6 days later. Scum bag Jordan is charging his own fans £20 for a 7 mile coach journey across South London

I also need to start looking at going back to Italy, it'll either be Turin and Genoa, Pisa and Florence or Sicily (ideally seeing 2 games).

JORDAN WHAT'S THE SCORE? JORDAN JORDAN WHAT'S THE SCORE?

12 years since they last beat us in the league, 12 years! It was worth getting relegated just for this, we did the double!!

Simon jordan's illegitimate,
he aint got no birth certificate,
hes got aids and cant get rid of it,
hes a palace baaastaaaard

Ahem.. I've gotten hold of an Arsenal v Milan ticket in the away end, should give me the BRN experience I missed last time at San Siro, and be completely unique for a Championship team fan such as myself.

Then it'll be off to Bramall Lane 10 days later.
