The number of bad calls the big clubs always get in their favour. Chiellini very clearly elbowed Pablo Armero in the face off the ball after taking down Di Natale from behind moments earlier, but the referee completely ignored it and then handed a free kick for nothing to Juve at the other end of the pitch. Obviously Juve haven't had the run of the officiating since Farsopoli, but it's so hard to be a fan of a smaller team, which in this case is Udinese.

I meant the one on Di Natale. What about the advantage the ref should have given to Juve but instead hauled it back.
The home team gets favours anyway but you lost because you conceded two goals and the ref didn't make them.

It's frustrating though because Juve didn't even have that many chances, aside from the last 15 minutes of the first half it was pretty even. What decided it was Conte bringing in Marchisio, it gave Juve stability in the midfield and prevented Udinese from catching Juve short on the counter like they did over and over before he came in. It's frustrating though because it was so obvious and the referee completely ignored it, and since it happened in the box, there was no way he was going to call it, especially that late in the game. Can you imagine if, say, Ferronetti had done that to Matri?

Yeah, the Marchisio substitution was the biggest factor in the game for me. As you say it stablised Juve and we were a bit all over the shop before that.
Your team is really good though, i think you'll stay ahead of Inter, hopefully anyway

I actually hope Juve win the Scudetto this year because I like anything that makes Inter fans' (and directors) underwear bunched up, it's just frustrating because I felt it was a fairly even game.

I thought the ref was fair tonight. I disagreed once or twice about decisions he gave for Udinese.
I can't recall the foul apparently committed on Di Natale. I remember seeing a player go down in the box after a cross from the right, but I didn't see it clearly, and nobody appealed for anything, so I assumed it was fair. _________________ Forza Juve!!!

Another bad result this weekend against Cagliari, fortunately Lazio and Inter both have decided they aren't interested in 3rd place, though. The point against Cagliari actually sent us back up into 3rd. I know our crazy run of form has to end sooner or later, hopefully this is just a hiccup though and not a sign that the season is about to slide downhill from here.

I got travel sick reading the last post!
Udinese were unlucky last night as I thought it was a poor decision by the ref for the sending off. Up till that point you were well in control of the game and heading for third but it's now anyone from three. I'd love to think Roma could make it from four & do it but the away form is a disaster. _________________ 'Il tifo e il nostro mestiere.'

But it was a tough draw to accept for exactly that reason, Napoli got a lot of decisions from the ref even aside from Fabbrini's two dismissals, and it cost us the chance to get back ahead of Lazio. Our performance was definitely much better than it has been over the last month though, so at least that's a positive, we dropped 2 points but hopefully we can get back on track after this.

Udinese promising to take care of Morisini's disabled sister is a very noble gesture.
I had no idea that his personal life had been so traumatic, which makes his death all the more saddening.

Looks like 'feeder' team Udinese will grab 3rd spot... Gonna be a blast from the past seeing the CL draw with Serie A having only 2 representatives...

If any of the four clubs in contention deserves the reward of CL it's Udinese, precisely for that fact that they've feeded the top clubs for years. Even if they do loose their preliminary i hope they get 3rd spot, otherwise Napoli, but not the other two.

If Atalanta had earned a point against Lazio then they would've been out of the race and we would've needed just a point against Catania to secure qualification, so we're going to have to do this the hard way. Look for Inter to roll over for Lazio next weekend, especially if they lose the derby against Milan, so we're going to have to beat Catania away, which won't be too easy. I thought that after our poor run during February and March our chances for 3rd were over, but fortunately Lazio, Napoli and Roma slumped at the same time.
A 3rd place finish would equal our best finish ever in 1997-98, riding capocannoniere Oliver Beirhoff. Of course, back then, that was only good enough for the UEFA Cup...

Well done on getting third place tonight. It was a relatively comfortable match besides Catania's (terrible) penalty and you deserved it over the season. Now you just need to hang on to that squad for next season! _________________ 'Il tifo e il nostro mestiere.'
