Remember when we used to do little quizzes? I liked them.
Here's one, then. By my reckoning there's six players who were in their country's squad for Euro 96, who are also representing their country at Euro 2008. Who are they?

I'll start with Van Der Sar from Holland.
I want to say Buffon too as he may have been old enough in '96 to sneak in to the squad, but I ain't sure... _________________ ACF FIORENTINA : FORZA LA VIOLA

Toughie.
The Kovac brothers; Croatia?
Henrik Larson? were Sweden even in Euro '96?
Were Turkish keeper Rustu and Poruguese keeper Vitor Bia around then? are they even in there now?
Willy Sagnol?

Im thinking maybe Jan Koller... he would have been about 23 at the time which should be enough.. _________________ Baggio Per Sempre!

Thuram, del Piero and van der Sar are indeed three correct answers. As is Rustu - full marks there, I thought that would be one no-one got!

How about Pascal Zuberbuhler from Switzerland?
Was Jens Lehmann in the squad for Germany too? _________________ ACF FIORENTINA : FORZA LA VIOLA

Vitor Baia hasn't played for Portugal since 2002, and retired from football last year!
Zuberbuhler is a great shout, but sadly wasn't in the 22 in 1996. Panucci and Galasek were also omitted back then.
Kopke, Kahn and Reck were Germany's keepers in 96.

Nope.
One has played much of his career in Serie A.
The other is a slight trick answer, although is correct in terms of my initial question.

Does that mean they were a player in 1996 but are now "representing their country" as a coach?
In which case is that Roberto Donadoni?

'Representing their country' - could include managers, so one Roberto Donadoni fits the bill. In the 96 Italian squad, picked the 08 Italian squad; Slaven Bilic also...

Yep, he was in the 96 squad.
And I thought I saw Kopke (German goalie in 96) as part of the German coaching set up this time around- goalies' coach for them?

Aye, Dario Simic is the last one, well played.
And yeah, I was getting at Slaven Bilic, although I forgot about Donadoni as well. Doh!
Alright, another one - only two players have scored in three Euro tournaments, who are they?
